I was able to listen to the GMP 435 S thanks to the ongoing loan program in Head Fi. I received the cans on January 8, 2010. This is not my first experience w/ a German Maestro headphone, having previously listened to the GMP 8.300 D. I do not know how many hours of burn-in this unit has; they should have plenty of burn-in since it has gone through several HF members before reaching my hands. Since I have no way of knowing and since I will be able to keep them for two weeks I will start by burning them in for 100 hours or so. So we are going to San Diego for vacation Saturday and it will be Molly's first airplane. Which means we need distractions. I've got some Disney classics and some kids tunes loaded up on the iPad, which means headphones. She turns 3 in August. They need to be comfy enough where she won't mess with them, small enough to fit a 3 year olds head, and cheap enough where I won't sweat it when she break them. Go.

The alcantara pads on my workhorse HD800s are rotten and I'd love to replace them. Over the years I've always been able to buy spare parts directly from Sennheiser, but no distributor seems to carry them for shipping to the U.S. at the moment. I don't want to ruin these by putting aftermarket Beyerdynamic pads or whatever on them, I just want to pay Sennheiser an ugly markup for parts they apparently no longer want to keep in stock. Does anyone have a line on a real supplier for these?

The shure se530's came in today. Was able to play with them a good chunk of time due to no school. I mainly was using my moth si2a3/45H with meridian as I am still waiting on my new 6g ipod to come in. The fit is excellent to my ears, nice and easy to insert, stays in place, and all the tips work just fine. I would say the triple flange is really awkward and I probably won't bother with it anymore because it places it too far out the ear. I tried the small rubber ones and the medium sized olive foam I believe, those are the ones I like so far. The olive foam though seems to fit in more snug and seems to isolate much better, though the smaller rubber tips go in and…

They say it's a replacement plan that covers accidental damage so if I were to drop them and they don't work or break I'm covered which is what I want..But I normally take good care of my stuff and really don't see myself ever dropping them. Alright this comparison arose out of complete boredom My Melos SHA-1 has two headphone outs and I keep the KSC75 (screen modded) plugged in at all times to act as a dummy load for the amp when it's turned on, and then plug the HP-2 (flats) in after the tubes have warmed up. Today I forgot to unplug the KSC75 and noticed they were still plugged in after I was about half way through one of the discs. Well, I am looking for a new set of headphones. There is a modded set currently for sale, based on various impressions I am interested. My favorite cans have always been the HP-1000's and L3000's. I have also owned and enjoyed the Senns 600 and 650's, RS-1's both new and vintage stock, PS-1's. Would love to hear all of your thoughts on the K340's and how they compare to what I am familiar with.

I would like to use them for recording vocals mainly and it's important that the headphones are able to prevent a lot of sound leaking into the microphone. In the "Measurements" thread, everyone could see that top-tier electrostatic and isodynamic headphones are more similar than different, having similar FR, CSD, square wave and impulse responces, isodynamics sometimes having better measured parameters. Now that I'm biking more (yay!) I find I need to take the occasional phonecall when I'm enroute. So I'm asking for headphone advice. Imagine that. When I was llving in NYC, I used my Etys all the time. They were great in the subway and walking to work. There was only one time that I almost got hit by bus. My other senses eventually compensated and everything was grand. Here in Ohio I don't have as much use for them, so I haven't been listening as much. Sennheiser customer service was super nice the entire time on the phone- I spoke to two really helpful reps. Took them about 2 weeks to get them here.
