One of the rubber earpads came off. If you own a pair of these you know it's impossible to put these back on. Is there a plan B?

After using low-end earphones so far, I finally decided to upgrade by buying Harman Kardon's NC. Being new to high-end headphones (or whatever they are) I have a quick question for you audiophiles.... It seems that sound quality in left and right (irrespective of the song & who is listening i.e. me or my wife) is slightly different. Overall sound quality when listening from both sides is just fine. But, I am wondering, if this imbalance is normal (what do I know about headphones?) OR is it a technical defect? Hoping for some genuine help!

I still have a soft spot for it. Might be interesting to hear the new K 272 HD. As far as closed headphones go, the K271 S was pretty darn good for the $150-200 price tag.

A pair of HE60 was given to me by a Thai friend. The phones must have been in storage for a long time as the vinyl on the ear pads come flaky off. So, I have to disassemble and clean the interior. Taking this opportunity, I take a few pictures. The diaphragm to stator distance is around 0.5 mm. There is nothing special on the stator surface. Wachara C.

Ok, so I had a pair of Koss UR-40 headphones and broke them. Now I am in the market for a new pair. I am not a big audiophile but I do like what I am listening to to sound good. I have a larger head (mainly in the width) as well as medium to larger size ears. I like my headphones to completely surround my ears. Anything sitting directly on my ears tends to become uncomfortable after a little while. I am also looking for something lightweight. I don't really want to notice them on my head. Would these sound half decent as a system? I listened to K 701's a long time ago and kind of thought they sounded like ass*. Would having killer power on these babies do anything for them, or do they still sound like ass after "burn-in" and Nuculer Power. * ass as in they could not rock out. They were very dull sounding, even after about 1,000 hours of burn-in when running out of my amp. The sins of the K 701, in my opinion, are sins of omission. My Criteria for at work headphones: - under $200 - don't want my boss to think i dont need a raise - not showy - huge cans make it look like I'm not working - extra amp not feasible - might "walk off" - have to work with a dell 610 laptop - like to have some bass - open cans will bother my neighbors thank you experts!

Hi everyone I need an earbud or portable headphone for walks and riding public transportation listening metal and rock, ocassional movie soundtrack music from Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and iRiver T10. Just got my UE10's. This is my first impression with a set made using my...impressions. First (sonic) impression is pretty much the same as I got at the National meet using a generic seal, but better still. These things are incredible. An IEM with real low end. Loads more detail than ER4s. Can be driven by pretty much anything. Not as isolating as the Ety's, but very nice sonic upgrade.

I know we do not discuss headphones much anymore but I have question for the Grado experts. I have to replace the pads on a couple of my Grados (actually one is an Alessandro) due to the infamous pad disintegration issue. There is some residue on the wooden cups that I would like to clean off. It is pretty clean just using a soft cloth and soft brush but there is some residue that I would like to remove without harming the finish. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
