I use the Stax setup at home. Here are the phones list Sony R10 (Hard to find), Sr-4070, ZMF Verite, Focal Stellia Any suggestion so far?

I'm looking for a pair of closed headphone for myself and a friend, and we'll be using them for classical music, with decent amplification. Not looking for IEM's (I have Ety's). I've heard various AT closed cans and they just don't work for my ears with this music, so I'm not considering them. I've also heard the Ultrasone ProLine 750, which also didn't work, but I haven't heard the other ultrasones. That leaves things like the Senn. 280, Beyer 250, Beyer 770 (I suspect I will find it strident), AKG K271 (the graph seems to have basically no bass), AKG K81DJ, and the Ultrasones I haven't heard (HeadRoom rate the Hi-Fi 700 and ProLine 650's highly, and in general I'v…

I do quite a decent amount of walking and it's mainly in neighborhoods. Sometimes though there are people mowing, using edge trimmers, blowing by in really loud cars, motorcycles, etc. and I can hear it and it bothers me with my current headphones (Monoprice 8323 stock). I know those don't block enough to prevent hearing damage. I do not like IEM's. I've been looking up and it seems like passive noise isolating headphones are better for medium pitch to high pitch noises and active noise cancellation is best for low to lower middle pitched noise. I have a pair of wooden MS1's which I find incredible for listening to electric guitar rock. I tried a pair of RS2is but they didn't accurately portray the tone of the guitar (IMO.) So what would be next to try as an upgrade: HF2's, RS1's, or MS-pros ?

I love to listen to popular jazz, particular to acoustic guitar (Earl Klugh is the man), and classical music (non rock). I have a pocketamp2 headamp which I like, usually I use it with my Grado SR60. I am considering another headphone, AKG, Senneheiser etc. But my budget is <$101. Can someone suggest a model, and perhaps where to get it. HD515 so far seems likely and will have to watch when they go onsale somewhere. gychang

I've owned a lot of different headphones throughout the years, including V-Moda Crossfade LP, Beats Detox, Jays a-Jays Four, Beats Tour, Noontec Zoro HD, Klipsch S4i and so on. I always went by the thought that more expensive is better. And then I bought the MEElectroincs M9P. They have an inline mic, which is nice. Their sound quality is absolutly great, great lows, good mids, great highs. The bass is very accurate, and stays the same even with the volume at maximum. Same thing about the treble. My Criteria for at work headphones: - under $200 - don't want my boss to think i dont need a raise - not showy - huge cans make it look like I'm not working - extra amp not feasible - might "walk off" - have to work with a dell 610 laptop - like to have some bass - open cans will bother my neighbors thank you experts!

Having done research on headphones within my price range and having reached no conclusion on what I should buy, I have decided to enlist the help of professional audiophiles. What I'm looking for in headphones is clarity, bass and all that other junk are also important to me, but the most important thing that I look for in headphones is crisp and clear music. If you can find it in your heart, please help this poor soul by providing some thoughtful advice as to what I should purchase.

Fuck, I tripped over my headphone cable of my ATH-A100Ti, and bent/broke the plug. I also broke my soundcard in my computer, but care a lot less about that, since I usually use an external one -- I don't think I'll get that fixed. So I'm thinking: rewire it! So what's the best 1/4" plug out there right now? Does Cardas make one? Or should I just get any old one? Should I also recable my headphones while I'm at it? Or should I sent it back to audiocubes or eifl for fixing? Can that even be done? Actually, just tested it out on a different connection, it appears it still works, must be the soundcard that got disconnected on one channel.

Anyone have an idea where I can get the AD2000 at the "best" price. The average I have seen it retailing for is $700 but some of the older threads refer to the cost being closer to $500 a few years ago. thanks..dB

Hello! I'm looking for a pair of headphones for my work. I'll be wearing them for about 4 hours every day to cut out noise and distraction at my station. I'm really looking for the sweet spot between Comfort, overall quality and price! (I have a budget of $100) I've done a lot of searching, and so far the Sennheiser HD 439 seems like a contender. I've often promised to write reviews, but have never followed through. This, then, represents my first-ever attempt to write a full review of an audio product. Setup: I'm at Todd's in Three Forks MT. The T50's are plugged into an awesome system consisting of a Meridian G08.2 CD player, APEX Peak and Volcano headphone amp and power supply, with Cardas Golden Reference cables. EDIT 4/23: If you're just finding this thread, I've substantially revised my published blog review of the DT 770's after living with them a while, receiving comments from others, and comparing them to additional headphones. Many of my initial impressions still apply, but the DT 770's are less accurate than I first believed. Beyer has done a decent job of spicing up the sound to appeal to a broader range of customers while leaving much of the frequency spectrum relatively unscathed.
