Hey guys! I dont know anything about video recording so hopefully I can get some help from you guys. My parents have been looking for a good video camera that can record for more than 2 hours of high quality HD video on a single charge. They've been using the 5d mkii as a video camera but its limited by the 10-12 min limit per recording (for HD video). The video camera doesnt need to have any pro features like xlr inputs or anything but a 3.5mm mic input would be pretty nice. Budget is up to $1.5k (for something thats high quality and built well) Thanks!

This is an idea I've had for years. I have a lot of audio equipment and other gear (but still a tiny fraction compared to many HCers). Much of it is in less than 100% working order. Some of it is "door stop" or "paperweight" status. There are bits I'd like to get working again and things I'd do better to throw out. I am sure I am not the only one. I need a bunch of different storage boxes for audio crap, computer stuff, you know random shit that I don't want to throw out. I use those plastic rubbermaid totes, but I'm wondering if there are any good websites other than the container store with storage options.

I currently have an Odyssey Stratos Plus power amp which I have used for I guess going on 20 years and have been pretty satisfied with. I was thinking about upgrading it as these have gone from the Plus model to Extreme models. Klauss of Odyssey is now offering a Kismet amp. I can get my Stratos upgraded to the Kismet pcbs with a larger power supply for a fairly reasonable price. However, I ran across an opportunity to get a Mark Levinson No. 23 for around the same price as upgrading the Stratos. Reliability is a large factor in my decision. My LP of Roland Kirk's Blacknuss has amazingly good sound quality imo, and there is no surface noise anywhere other than one spot where it skips. Is there any way I can fix this skipping, or is it a lost cause?

Has anyone seen the DVD? If so, is it any good?

Hello I was wondering about different methods of how to listen critically. Are books by Alton Everest or the golden ears training cds of any value? I know the listening live maxim but am looking for alternatives and compliments to that way.

few weeks ago I heard noise on one channel of my headphones. took CD player off that circuit and that furman surge protector. I now have the CD player going to my receiver via sony h.a.t.s, so its just digital out and not using the analogue stage headphone amp in the player. Its on a different circuit and surge protector. I can hear noise on one speaker like I heard with the headphones. I'm thinking this is something with the player, but maybe both circuits just suck that bad, it is an old house and the circuits share lots of items. Anyone know if AC noise can manifest itself in only one channel? I'm kind of planning to buy new gear this year anyway, but it…

I know we have Shave-Case, but for those periods of wanting to keep hair have any suggestions for beard treatments to keep things manly soft and not bone dry? I'm looking to replace my wired iPhone headset with a Bluetooth headset......I work remotely so I'm on calls a couple hours a day on average so comfort and call quality (including sufficient volume) are my top priorities. Not really going to use this much outside so looks aren't too important but I don't want it to look ridiculously geeky either. Trying to keep it under $60 but willing to go over if need be. I've looked online at several models and it seems like there is always someone who has a complaint about comfort or audio quality and I'm not sure which ones are just comments from nagging, never-happy consumers

Does anyone have experience with this device. For some unknown ridiculous reason, my company only supports Windows Mobile devices. The device they supply is the Samsung Jack (on horrible ATT). This is the free and easy option. I could get another (Windows Mobile) device and have them jam it into the network, but I'm not sure how much of the tab they'll pick up. So for the moment, I'm trying to determine whether the Samsung Jack at least approaches the business feature set of a Blackberry or whether this is just a waste of time.

I was in a camera and photography-gear shop recently and noticed that they sold vacuum boxes. Apparently many photographers use the boxes to store their camera bodies and lenses. I bought one to try out. Repeatedly pulling a handle pumps air out of the container. I think it's useful to store electrostatic headphones and other gear sensitive to dust and humidity.

I bought a SB Solo for my daughter to access her home dvr and tv. My router is in a different room from the dvr/tv. Slingmedia sells a device for $80. Are there any that anyone recommends that I can buy locally in an Office Depot, etc. Also, does anyone think there will be a problem using it with my Apple Time Capsule which is a wireless router.

Hi all, Did some searching, not really finding definitive opinions/answers for good photo printing sites. We got a DVD of pictures (hi-rez JPG) back for our son's Bar-Mitzvah, with the rights to print for our personal use....we wanted to make a nice album. We'll also investigate specialty photography stores locally, but wondered if anyoine can recommend decent online services. We've used Snapfish and Mpix, and have seen other work from Shutterfly. So-so impressed...... Any thoughts or recommendations? Or would a local place really be our best bet? Thanks, Todd.

Just stumbled across an announcement from a few days back that Sony is pushing a new CD standard called "Blu-spec CD". The articles I've found on this seem a little confused with many suggesting it's a new format, but as far as I can tell they're simply manufacturing Redbook compliant CDs to higher tolerances. Planning to start doing more hiking and biking. Looking for a multi-activity watch (wrist computer?). A bit of Googling seems to suggest the Garmin Forerunner 935 (cheaper, lighter and anecdotally better GPS performance than the Fenix 5 series). I known some of you here like Suunto as well.
