Looks like I'm giving my 2 weeks notice next week. Finally heard back from the other group. I just have to pass some background check formality.7 points

Figured out that the guys who did my sway bar install 1) installed it wrong 2) forgot to properly tighten the bolts on one side. I managed to get the bolts out, install them correctly and tighten them. This was the source of the clunking that has been driving me nuts for months. Super happy! I wish people would do stuff right the first time.2 points

I'm not sure how easy the access to these videos will be since I'm registered with the hosting site Kadenze. You may have to register but,.. some of the classes here are very good. Anyway, this "Guided Tour of the SFMOMA" are interviews with artists at the the San Francisco MOMA. Good stuff https://blog.kadenze.com/2016/08/08/kadenzes-guided-tour-sfmoma-interview-archive/2 points

Working my way through Iain M Banks' back catalogue. Hell of an author in the space opera genre. Also writes non-scifi under the same name without the "M", none of which I've yet to read.2 points

Hey Brent, have you heard about about this weird sporting event that happens every four years where the best athletes in the world congregate in one place and compete?1 point

Its a good thing its limited to the high end audio market. If it happened like that in the housing, phone, auto, and stock markets, we might have to worry about an unstable economic future. That would be scary. ¬¬1 point

Alastair Reynolds worked at the European Space Agency, and wrote novels in his spare time. Once they began to sell big time, he resigned and started as a full time author. Love his stuff - as a hard scientist, his novels reflect that.1 point

That's weaksauce. I'm going on a Pokecrawl tonight after work that includes a ride on the Chattanooga Ducks (did you guys do that?) Going from one side of the river to the other in one of these. The Aquarium on the right and the building on the left are fantastic spots, and I hold up about 2-3 blocks from there when we play. I LOVE living 3 minutes from there. **BRENT**1 point

Isn't that all stuff every headphone manufacturer's marketing department should be doing before the launch of a flagship product? It sounds like good business to me. Manufacturers whose marketing departments don't do this kind of PR rollout are probably doing their product a disservice, don't you think? I don't really see any ethical issues unless positive reviews were paid for. -- In any event, the high-end of the headphone world seems to be reasonably good at separating the wheat from the chaff once the initial buzz settles. The cream has generally risen to the top (Sennheiser, Schiit, Stax) while the mediocrity has Been sinking (Audeze, Ultrasone, Basically Every Custom Cable Maker). As usual, early adopters put themselves at risk of falling for the buzz, but this is and will always be the case.1 point

Brent, I think my kids and your kids will have a lot more to talk about next time I come through Chattanooga than they did last time. Alaric has always been gregarious, but it's just hilarious to watch him talk to people about PG. Anyone on the street with a smartphone is prey now. I'm at level 15, and totally loving this game.1 point

In that same vein -- Alastair Reynolds, Charles Stross, Ken MacLeod. Neil Asher is good for nasty alien potboilers.1 point

That was my introduction to his work, Stretch. A great novel. My other favourite is Greg Bear. Particularly some of his astonishing earlier work like Blood Music and Infinity Concerto. He's gone off the boil a bit, more recently.1 point

I've been using a Feather AS-D2 razor for a couple of years now. Exceptional build quality typical of proper Japanese work. Nice weight. Tested several blade brands and am hooked on the Feather platinums. Preshave oil is a must for me. The Art of Shaving oil is too heavy and has a bit of a clove smell for those that are sensitive to scents. Lather & Wood's unscented pre-shave oil is far better and more practical, especially with the mister on the bottle. I am a big fan of Taylor of Old Bond Street's Jermyn Street Collection for Sensitive Skin. I started using this a month or so ago and was shocked how good it is, especially for the price. I don't even bother with the badger brush anymore. https://www.amazon.com/Cremo-Astonishingly-Superior-Shave-Cream/dp/B009WQH8SA/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1469507784&sr=1-1&keywords=cremo+shave+cream It's a game changer. Their moisturizer is good, but not nearly as good as the shave cream. Alum block is a nice touch after a shave. I very much like this Neutrogena product for a post shave moisturizer. This is for a 3-pack. Note it has a bit of menthol. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JOLMTMI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 HS1 point
