Sam, I love Surface Pro. Have the Surface pro 2 with 512GB of SSD. You can get less than $500 these days in a second hand market or a refurbished one. I prefer Win7 but Win10 isn't that bad IMO.

dsavitsk, That's a good thought from a functional perspective. What I can offer is Win 8 made me want to shoot myself (came on my son's laptop). I use Win 7 at work without issue and was very comfortable with XP before we had to lay it down. I have had no exposure to Win 10. If it's anything like 8 I don't think my bar is deep enough... HS and at the risk of being stoned for being behind the times, my Mac Air still runs on Mavericks (it came with Mountain Lion and I upgraded once I felt Mavericks was stable). I didn't bother with Yosemite or El Capitan. I'm a bad person...

Well that was very quick shipping from FPE , Initially I was going for an all out black box, but FPE don’t do anodising after milling leaving the panels with silver edges, which got me thinking silver sides would help blend in more naturally, so that’s what I did. I’m really happy with the result overall, the fit is really good, the side edges and base of board have have good clearances. I’m still waiting on feet, final LED and volume knob. I’ll do some testing and see how I go with the temperature, uncased I was getting around ~65° over the regs, THATs and outputs, I may have to turn it down a little, depending...
