Shelly's cousin Hurricane Harvey is wreaking havoc over the Texas gulf coast. I just wanted to share that we have been in contact with Shel and Steve and both are ok. Steve moved inland and is going to try to get back home today to assess any damage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

That was a lot more fun that I thought it would be. He may be a horrible human being but he is one HELL of an athlete.3 points

This.^^^ Steve texted Debbie with essentially the same info. Glad to hear that his mom's home is safe. If we hear any way we can help we'll post it, or if Al or Shel or others hear, let us know. We all want to help our brother.2 points

Ken's right. Sam is also in Houston. I'm sure we'll hear from him how his family is. Good to hear an update on Shelly and Steve!2 points

I think you'll be disappointing with them. Try the AlNiCo's instead - they feel more natural.2 points

No wires! Going to try and cram another HDMI input coming from the wall plate with the wire you see (subwoofer out from upcoming soundbar).2 points

Demo day at the local shop. Got to try a boosted board again, which was a totally different experience now that I can ride an analog one. Switched up my bushing configuration and swapped to new ceramic bearings. Also got in a bit over 20 miles on my board.2 points

Eclectic Mill Valley Brunch Not Shown: Honky tonk piano accompaniment1 point

His son Caspar does some pretty cool "free guitar" work as well. I have an old album or two in MP3 format somewhere, need to find them and listen again....1 point

Three meat brunch. I ignored the collards. Pulled pork was good. Vinegary not sweet. Brisket was tender but had a boiled consistency. Meh. Smoked chicken flat out sucks. Rubbery skin and feels undercooked in the mouth even when it's done. Bleah.1 point

Feedback? *scoff* If I wanted your feedback I'd ask for it. Seriously though great work, man.1 point

Oddly relevant, I watched One Punch Man recently. Really entertaining parody of superhero media, and has more than a few jabs at stuff like DBZ. As the name suggests, it's about a guy who can defeat anyone and anything with a single punch, which leads to him being very bored with life and generally oblivious to the seriousness of any situation around him.1 point

I didn't watch the fight. I have, however, now seen half a dozen GIFs from the first two rounds where Mayweather didn't end the fight because he chose not to. This was a circus, and rooting for either millionaire asshole is stupid.1 point

Yeah I thought it should have scored closer than that. Through 8 rounds mcgregor did well.1 point

Splitting off from another topic, I'm still really wanting this game to finally get released. CDPR, the studio behind Witcher 3, has had this in the works for many, many years and is their most ambitious project ever:1 point

The Peter Brotzmann Octet - Machine Gun. As a metal head, I started to like free jazz. But quality of the sound cannot be worse, I guess thats the part of it too.1 point

i recently did some refurbishing of my apartment, and decided to rotate the living room 180 degrees, to allow even more room for the stereo. this allowed me to place the TH subs in the corner, freeing up enough space to fit both my TT's! new USM Haller shelf (built from vintage parts) - Aw yiss! mmm... so smooth So now i have the AT33 mono on the NRK tts3000 (for mono records obviously) and the AT33ptg/II on the SR sp-10mkII I have routed them through an rca switch going to the RIAA, so i can change between them easily. the shelves pull out, and has enough room for around 300 records. a very convenient way to store the currently most played records close to the TT's.1 point

Steve is fine but the news is bad. He had no computer right now and sketchy cell service but his words are better than mine: Update: Was able to get back to check status. My RV is torn up beyond repair. Total devastation around me. I'll have to decide my next move. Overwhelmed ATM but I'm OK and Suzy is OK. My Mom's motorhome is intact. Time for me to make some hard decisions. No insurance on my old motorhome, as it had no real monetary value. I'll check in again soon. It's like a nuke was dropped all around. Massive destruction. I hope Shelly is dry and safe, and I'm driving back to SF from LA now but will check in again soon.0 points
