  3. I'm getting better with Eagle, so here's an updated version of the GR78xx boards (still need the GR79xx version). This version supports higher voltages and more current (some infamous designer wanted that ). The board is the same size at .8" x 1.16". GR78xx.xlsx GR78xx-Gerber.zip And some pics...

I had Bobby on my lap (which is becoming a daily occurrence and lasting longer and longer as he gets comfortable with me playing on the iPad or reading while he’s there) and Skye on my chest earlier, which is a first! At least first time they’ve both stayed for longer than a couple seconds (Bobby usually notices and departs). And that’s actually the longest that Skye has stayed longer than a minute, so two firsts.

Well today went a lot better. The little 400W battery pack still went from FL (full) to LO as soon as I connected it (which is inexplicable, because it's not measuring the car battery, it's measuring itself), so I called a local tow guy and told him I'm in the parking garage, so he can't bring his truck, and he actually seemed to brighten up at the prospect, and when he showed up, he showed up in a cab with his family, and he pulled out a battery pack that wasn't that much bigger than mine...alright, it "wasn't that much bigger" in the same way that a porn cock "isn't that much bigger" than mine (they are*), but it was rated at 1200 Watts and started her...er...I mean, my car right up. Hey, so now I had a way to warm the battery up and charge it! So I drove around for about an hour (including nervously stopping in the middle, briefly), and I will check on it again in the morning. *...or so I hear...blah blah blah...that's what she said...
  7. Looks good. Doing one in about an hour.
  8. yes... for this reason I buy them in multiples of 100
  9. That one should be just fine if the pinout matches. Couldn't be bothered to test it...
  10. updated the BOM. 2K trimpot changed to 4pcs. 470R changed to 1/2w. 5W zener simply because it's slightly cheaper than 1/3w .
  11. You're playin' some of my fav's today Mikey! Thanks!
  12. only reason to use more resistors is spreading the heat dissipation
  13. Can't wait to hear this and eventually own it.
  14. JP asked me about a different phono stage that I actually use so I offered to sell him the Eddie Current Transcription amp sitting in a cupboard the last few years. It's a start. Oh, and I still use the Millett amp in my main system.
  15. Think I'm going to go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint and wait for all this to blow over.
  16. Stats aside I think Mr Speakers plannar line-up is competitive and competent with current offerings.
