From the datasheet for those Hammond output transformers: Designed for general purpose or replacement use (not Hi-Fi), in single ended, tube output circuits. Frequency response: 100 Hz. - 15 Khz at full rated power (+/- 1db max. - ref. 1 Khz). For full frequency response (20 Hz. to 20 Khz.) - see our 1627-1642 Series. A single one of those circuits in a plywood case should run you about $400. And be used in a garage system at best.4 points

We have posted it a million times but listening to this album calms my nerves.3 points

Very sad indeed. We were warned about the effects of global warming, yet people still do nothing. Who would have thought about such fires in Gran Canaria 20 or even 10 years ago?3 points

Dunhill has recovered, though it took a while to get back to 100%. I am going on a trip, at the end of this week, and I am taking them with me. It's just five days, and I'd normally have my cat friend (who loves these kitties nearly as much as I do, and always refuses pay) check on them every day, but she's also going out of town. Dunhill and Silver act like three miles in the car is murder, so I'm sure 450 miles will be just fine. I have bought new carriers that are made for the car and have seatbelt attachments and pads. I'm assuming they will eventually settle down? Also, my orientation for volunteering at the local SPCA Kitty City (where I got my two monsters) is set for September 7th. I am excited about it!3 points

So from the toe-in angle of those 801s and the distance that they are apart - I would guess the listening position is about 6-7 feet away (in a room that is not much bigger). One thing I know from being an 802 owner for 20+ years - They need to Breath!.. anyway - nice rig...2 points

I guess I didn't post it in this thread, but Herbie and Kamasi (and Branford Marsalis and Joshua Redman) filled in four nights for Wayne Shorter who was ill and couldn't perform at SFJAZZ in January. It was a hell of a lineup and I was especially impressed that a young dude like Terrace hung in there with this super group. Herbie Hancock piano & keyboards Terence Blanchard trumpet Terrace Martin alto saxophone & keyboards Danilo Pérez piano John Patitucci bass Brian Blade drums Kamasi was on a different night with everyone but Terence, but I was out of town for the rest of the shows.2 points

Have you watched The Man in the High Castle (Amazon)? I read the book, but haven't watched the show.1 point

I always weigh beans for each shot, and then time the shot. I aim for about 30 secs from when I push the button, so for pre infusion maybe a bit longer. Bought a little cheap gram scale just for weighing shots, and made a little arduino to measure grouphead temps, and I added a shot timer function to the arduino. So in daily use its pretty easy for my morning latte. For bean storage, I think I said this already, but I vacuum pack in about 1/2 lb per and freeze my beans to keep them fairly fresh. I buy 5 lbs at a time, and it takes a few months to go through it.1 point

Kamasi is correct. They have been playing together since 2000 and I have seen them a few times since at least 2008. Brian Blade instantly became one of my favorite drummers the first time I saw them. Steve, Wayne Shorter was at the SFJAZZ dinner we went to years ago. Mikey was there too.1 point

Could you imagine trying to find matched sets of NOS tubes for these sorts of things?1 point

Wow! That must've been amazing. I saw an interview with Washington and IIRC, he was saying that Shorter's band was as tight and in tune with each other as human beings were capable of.1 point

Not today, but this week, I started learning JSP. Didn't realize that was something different than Javascript (which run on the browser), but rather, Java Server Pages (which run on the server). Somehow, I've managed to spend most of my career avoiding all but the most trivial GUI work. (I usually do backend work. [cue Steve]) And I already was told I could call myself an expert once I learned how to do Decorators. I think she was being sarcastic, but who cares, the guys who usually do the GUI work are too busy trying to upgrade all the code from Java7 to Java8, and I'm pretty sure I can get it all done in a couple days. So...pride.1 point

I don't think the problem is only for the global warming. The serious problem lies in the plague of "Cool invironmentalists" who live on the government's subsidies here. Our forests have not been cleared of thickets, dried leaves, reeds for more than a decade. Forest roads and hunter passages have not been cleared. Things our grandparents did on a regular basis in a hurry to avoid this and that act as a fire breaker. Now if you cut a weed, the Seprona (something like a forest guard) takes a second to appear and punish you. The funniest thing is to see the autonomous president say that the Canary Islands have no means ... but we have autonomous police, drones of the Guardia Civil and a legion of sucks useless inks in the administrations .. and they want to reduce the number of firemen because they are very expensive. Hay que joderse. Luckily the Army and the Firemen are true heroes. This year to get off with our mountain bikes from a peak we pass through a place where the pinocha (dry pine leaf) mantle reached almost half a meter high. This is highly flammable but nope can be touched because of the environmentalists. I'm sorry but I'm very pissed off.0 points

In this week many good and humble people have lost their homes, their animals and their crops ... their lives razed in minutes. Something very sad0 points

We have at home some members of our family who have had to be evacuated from a town called Tejeda. This past week we had a chrono climbing until that town crossing a part of the national park that is being devastated by the fire. Logically it was suspended. Three huge fires in a week and a half. Luckily, we are all safe since my house is on the other side of the island.0 points
