Started the day helping some neighbors build a work-around for a trail that an asshole neighbor decided to block despite it being a right-of-way.
My buddy Jim got busy after I left and got the whole thing decked.
So I got busy and made a sign for the new trail.
This was actually Saturday night, but we went to see Ian McKellen in London, who is doing his 80th birthday tour. A mixture of personal recollections from his life, and chunks of Shakespeare and poetry. Awesome.
He did not even take a rest in the interval - he just got off the stage and mooched around the audience. Then climbed back onto the stage for the second part. A total of three hours of total awesomeness.

I went and saw Southern Culture on the Skids last night. I hadn't thought of them in years when I saw the tickets go on sale several months ago. Boy am I glad I bought tickets. They still put on a fantastic show.
Finally watched the first episode of Warrior.
The violence and nudity seem a bit gratuitous (but not excessive) – we're in a post-Game of Thrones TV era, so I guess anything that pulls them in... they've also put a lot of swearing into the dialogue, which makes sense because of the low status of most of the Chinese immigrants (and it fits right in with post-gold rush San Francisco).
Highly recommended. I'll have to stop myself from binge watching as there are only 10 episodes in the first season.
I'm also watching the first season of Into the Badlands. It's a bit clumsier in writing and execution, but has its own charms as well, being a fantasy show.
I think it's on Cinemax / Amazon Prime / Hulu in the U.S.
I'm watching both shows on Blu-ray – that's why it took so long to catch up.
Back in the 90s, I watched Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Vanishing Son, and a bunch of other stuff (never watched Martial Law or Walker, Texas Ranger, though). It's always been a niche market with few breakthroughs.
I have the V1 and I cannot compare it to high end DACs or DACs in its price range. I have not gotten a chance to listen to other DACs in a situation where the surround components were familiar enough for me to draw a conclusion.
There are no local Hifi dealers where I live so getting the chance to in home demo just isn't on the cards for me.
I actually only heard the YGGY once before buying it. It was at a meet where Head-Amp was demoing the BHSE. I loved the sound with those two components and the 007mki. I decided I would purchase what I knew I liked.
I almost put this in the "What reading" thread, because it only makes sense if you've read any of Christopher Moore's books (which is highly recommended by me), but I'm actually behind on reading his books, so I'll just qualify it with this sentence. There's also some pretty funny stuff in the comments, too. "I want the organist to play "pop goes the weasel" over and over, until everyone is staring at my coffin in silent, horrified anticipation."
Yes, heat sinks and front/rear panels are from modushop.biz. Brackets and aluminum plates for top/bottom covers from local shops. Drilling, tapping and other crafting done in kitchen.
I bought the album after listening to these based on this post. Actually, these guys remind me of Roxy Music alot. I will have to say that this is massively overproduced (even though I do like it).
Messing with this tonight.
Its playing into balanced ortho's. the gain is stock at 2 and its just enough, not real loud but sounds just great!
yes this is meant for Pre duty, this is one way I test them.
that 12va transformer is too small, but was just sitting here. 20-25va would be better.
GRLV is set for +-18V heat sinks are 35C, with 4V of regulation
the buffer's are setup for 18v & that way I can use the cheaper servo's
room is 20C, buffer output transistors are 40-46C, transformer 42C
I want that cake whisky!!!
Thanks - I killed this Macallan other night with Al and Ric. (thanks to Travel Team for bottle)
I will be opening a new Birthday bottle for this year tonight - a rare one maybe.
