  2. Might be the fumes talking, but don't try to solder a CFA3 in one sitting.

  3. On the Apple Watch front, Hodinkee just did their five year retrospective. "I’ve never seen our audience, meager as it was half a decade ago, any angrier than it was on April 24, 2015." https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/apple-watch-fifth-anniversary

  4. ER, I love it. Super happy with the Jean Rousseau alligator strap I had made with the deployant clasp...that was a game changer for the watch both in wearability and aesthetics for me. The 39mm is a sweet spot for me given I also have a relatively small wrist. I've included a crappy pic which doesn't do it justice, but it's the best I have at the moment. As for the gin, you really need to address that gap! My bar has never been so loaded and my liver has never worked as hard as since this virus arrived... HS

  6. It's actually a crop of a really well done SFM render an artist did of "TF2 Engie as Alex Jones" This is approximately what you should picture when I'm pontificating on the specific differences between the Ultamae, CYAN and Sine Music labels.

  7. I made sloppy joes yesterday. It’s basically the same as my goulash recipe, except I run everything through a food processor first. Jar of pasta sauce (I used a Fra Diavola(?sp) this time) 1 can tomato paste 1 thing of mushrooms 1 thing of cauliflower 13 stalks of celery Cumin White pepper Black pepper Hungarian hot paprika 1 whole onion 5 red Thai peppers 1 package of ground meat (I used chicken this time) Beef broth Rice to soak up the extra liquid, and change the consistency from soupy to sloppy-joey And a dollop of garlic to taste no olives this time Bonus techno-fuckery

  8. That’s a beautiful piece, as I remembered. I’ll go to the store tomorrow. Was going to go today, but panic attack. I really, really wish I had a BSL3 suit. I bet the 39mm Speedy wears beautifully. Better than my 42mm Pros. The GMT 2 looks like a monster in comparison.

  13. Thank you, HemiSam. I don’t know what the sweet spot is. When I had a Patek 3940g for a week was where I should have stopped, but keeping the watch.

  15. I really like my Apple watches, but I understand. I might switch to a GMT Master for the afternoon, if I can find a bottle of gin in my pantry... No gin found. I knew there wouldn’t be any. How does the FOIS wear? I have a pre-moon and a current pro, but I’m not that familiar with how other Speedies (and yours is a beauty) wear. I am down to a 6.5 inch wrist now, but I honestly think the Pros wear smaller than my 116170LN, though bigger than the 1675.

  17. I'm wearing mechanicals for the first time in weeks. Why don't they unlock my computers when I walk nearby? Anyway, attached is a comparison of JLC and Cartier blued-hands. I think the JLC hands are a bit nicer, at least on a less-than-sunny day. There is a slight variation in the thermal-bluing, so I'd say that all of these are hand-blued, but the JLC hands are done slightly slower, which is why they pop so much.

  19. Just purchased a Stax SRM-1/MK-2 amp, with one side converted to a pro bias out put. Seller say's everything is working ok, just a worn looking case. I hope I like it with my SRX-3 MK III normal bias headphones.

  20. I wear a similar gshock to that when riding my dirt bike and when in my can-am. Both activities cause quite a bit of shock and vibration. Very happy with it those applications. Also shooting and a few other things.

  21. Sometimes you have to learn to love something less expensive... I had the same reaction to a Swatch Royal Blue Rebel (SUOS702) while on vacation. I've learned that sometimes you find something (or someone) perfect and you'll regret not acting for the rest of your life. The relationship was consummated immediately. 😍

  22. @HemiSam makes sense why i enjoy the Burundi so much, earthy and spicy is definitely my jam. couple of Onyx Colombians the past few days... Colombia Jhon David Molina. the apple note on this one is outrageously good, like a red apple baked into a pie. onyx claimed the tartness of this can be too much if you under brew, no issues here. Colombia Inmaculada Gesha. my first time trying a gesha, by far the most expensive beans i have bought. the nose is less sweet and more spice. more sharpness in taste and you really have to let it sit to just above room temp to pull the underlying cocoa. with only 4oz to play with there's not much i can try changing on this... it's good but not as memorable for me as the Molina.
