Just finished putting this together as a nice little base for my turntable. I think the turntable likes it.

Unpictured - the Jonokuchi has been coaxed back into life. B+ is running high so I'm going to talk with Pete about the best way to knock that down some without over complicating life but it was nice to have music coming out of both channels again.

It just sits there. That metal on top will have some motor things to move it around and a spinning thing to make wood, plastic, and aluminum shavings.

Input and output wiring in place: And I'm happy to report that the amp is working! No smoke, no arching, no shrapnel. After like an hour of warming up and fiddling with offset and balance, I gave it a listen with my 007mk1. Wow. I'm treating pin 1 as analogue ground btw, and circuit ground goes to the chassis earth ground point via a CL60 thermistor. Zero noise, zero hum - with my gear at least. Bias is still around 17mA for all channels, I'll get some more accurate numbers when I set up the optocoupler servo. Not sure if I'll go up to 20mA, this amp is a furnace at 17mA already.

So I've been active on Flickr on and off since 2005. I used to regularly submit images to the Tattooed Girls group. Said group has been rudderless for what feels like a decade. All of the admins have been MIA for ages. In the interim, the group has been overrun with off topic images, porn, spam, images with phishing links in the description, etc etc. After several months of back and forth, I managed to get control of the group by contacting Flickr staff. The first thing I did was ban a few spam accounts. Since then I have been slowly going through the 65,000+ (ya rly) images and removing ones that don't fit. I'm currently on page 217 of 629, which is from some time in 2012. I've saved a few photos that I liked as I've waded through oh so many. I'm gonna post some here over the next period of time. Fair warning, there may be an occasional titty.

I used General Finishes High Performance Satin on a table recently and it came out really well. It was very easy to apply and clean up was easy. I am planning on trying it again on a live edge counter down the road a bit.

I second the Arm R Seal. I really like the General finishes.

I like using oils like boiled linseed oil or Tried & True products (Original Wood Finish or Varnish Oil, although their Danish Oil might be good for the dog toy box) because they are easy, non toxic can be refinished or freshened without stripping the old one. For your dog toy box, you might want a polyurethane -- either water based poly or a tougher finish like Arm R Seal, which is an oil and poly mix.

Great lens, but there are so many fantastic vintage lenses out there, which may climb in value due to a demand for video usage, that's what I would buy instead - unless the price on this goes even lower, which is a possibility. This is the Olympus OM Zuiko 50mm f/1.2 (on the EOS R), but I have too many others

A guy on /r/audiophile had a pair of 18" subs for a live PA that he was unable to sell, so he added them to his home theatre. WAF is quite low as it turns out.

Thirded for Arm R Seal. That's what I used on the Colossus, as well as many other projects. I like to use foam brushes to apply. Put your brush inside a ziplock bag between coats.

I think I have now officially used every piece of stick torturing equipment in my “shop” to build this one box. I had already purchased a Shellac and a UV blocking Polyurethane and I see no one recommends those so I guess I will head to the shop.

The ones I broke I had ordered from mouser when they still were available - like everything else in the build. However my psu was not made by me and I have no idea where those parts came from. I still don't understand how the mosfets could break down completely. I read up on mosfet failures and what I got seems to come from overvoltage. However I have a 400V psu that became unregulated on the negative voltage and it never surpassed -460V... anyway very happy it works again. I realize ebay is known for fake parts and I would never buy truly rare parts from there like those K170. But I took my chance with the c2m as it just became hard to order recently and isn't obsolete yet. I also received the UnitedSIC parts from mouser, but without more opinions I didn't want to try putting them on my board. Here are some images. I cnc'd a front panel from future carbon (acazia wood). The extra boards are a 3-stage dc filter and a relay/resistor-based inrush limiter. My old house with strange wiring has quite some dc and it made the transformer hum constantly. The PSU is the standard BH-mini-psu circuit. I increased the cap size when I replaced almost everything on the board.
