  1. Changed out my ZU DL-103 for the Benz Micro Ace SL that arrived today. Got the new cartridge aligned, tracking force set to 1.7g and VTA at 20 degrees. Yeah, definitely an upgrade! Wow, really liking this cartridge! Flat and neutral? No. Fun and engaging? Hell yes!

  2. All this CNCing got me excited, so I figured I’d share... Here’s my mill and this is a heat sink that I am thread milling. Very cool stuff IMG_2788.MOV Also, I’ve been using painters tape and super glue instead of fixtures. Works great on metal. So much easier.

  4. Test run on what will be a Stetson and sword holder. Figured 36” would be large enough, I guess not.

  5. Getting past those, the equipment and the cables to safely get to the CD's and records, seems somewhat hazardous

  8. Love the Apogees, and the Stage (as well as the Duetta) were on my drool-list for a while. Just wonder how good those are so close to the wall/corner.....

  11. I have been looking for a new GPU for a month (I´m thinking in a 2080TI or 3080). After seeing new and pre-owned prices and Nvidia's lack of new stock I realized that I should have invested my savings in graphic cards.... 🥵 I think I'll keep my current 1070 for a while.

  12. I had a pair of Apogee Duetta Signature which I foolishly sold. They are wonderful speakers and do things I have not experienced with other type of speakers. They were difficult to place properly and seem to be choosy of the room which was the main reason I sold it. It's the single piece of audiophile gear I miss the most all these years.

  15. Yeah. I have the sd Quattro H (occasionally post shots over at https://www.instagram.com/blessingx/ ) . Love the images. Dislike the ISO limitations to get the best images. Kinda consider it my [digital] film camera. The full frame Foveon version of the fp was promised last year, delayed until this year, then almost immediately delayed indefinitely... but “still coming.” They’ve announced some sensor bug that required them to start over. Sounded serious. They’ve said it will be a more Merrill design with 20MP triple layered (3x20), requiring a larger body than the fp and due to readout times, no video. Who knows if it will ever make it to market? It’s the opposite of a general purpose camera.

  16. Ice Cold Murders (sorry, couldn't find a clip). Great Italian detective series that's free with Prime till Feb 1. There are 2 -12 episode series and I haven't watched anything else since I stumbled across this (almost done with season 1). I'm a big fan of "who done its" so take that into account. I believe there are more seasons and I guess they are waiting for them to appear on Starz (Amazon says Masterpiece). Anywho, I love-love-love this one so give it a try while it's free.

  18. My mind keeps thinking what a badass turntable could be built with this thing! A round, multilayered, three footed wooden masterpiece comes to mind.

  19. The locals pack them in quite nicely and yes, recent trends are that they ice up in several sections. I ended up finding a very lightly used set for $150 (vs. $200 per tire) so I grabbed those and I'll mount them up if it ever snows again. Currently I'm enjoying the heck out of the bike in mid-fat mode in weather that feels more like October than January. I have also further complicated the solution of the second bike by picking up another set of 27.5 wheels (again nearly new at less than half price) and appear to have found a frame to start building. Details once I actually have it on hand and can get it into rolling chassis status.

  20. Threw together a tool board in VCarve. In hindsight I could have done a better job with the space but it works for now.

  22. Found a lightly used set of Nobby Nic 27.5x3.0 tires a few towns over so I snatched them up for 40% of the cost of one tire and got them mounted for a ride today. I'll still probably end up picking up a set of studded snow tires but for now, it's fun playing monster truck in the woods.

  24. I could never remember his name, but he was always easy to find. I'd stand with him and his buddies for a couple of innings out on the concourse in left field every time I went to Minute maid Park. He gave people autographed pictures of himself. "In color" he would say as he handed it to me, and I'd say, "Oh no, that's Ok. You gave me one last time!" I guess I wasn't too hard to spot either. When I first met him, I was watching batting practice down by the 1st base dugout, sitting alone and looking like Santa. He found me. Instant 'unusual hair' friends. Such a kind and gentle soul. https://www.mlb.com/news/valentin-jalomo-astros-fan-dies-at-81
