Man, this one hurts. Headcase has a bunch of great guys, and I'm sure I'd say this about a lot of you, but Steve was just a gem of a man. So warm and kind. He was an unassuming and humble guy, and truly a giver. Sucks that he didn't get longer in this journey. I'm just seeing this post as well. Busy guy in December. Hope everyone else has been well.2 points

Rotem Sivan - Antidote It's available on Qobuz and probably other streaming services on better sound quality than free Bandcamp. I found this guitarist on YouTube for he posts some lessons on theory, which end up being more about his perception of music and tone than tips you can use on your playing or training. Either way his music is not conventional yet not being weird or "too free". This album also sounds terrific.1 point

I was beginning to think she couldn't die. It would have been nice for her to make it to 100 next month (same birthday as my brother and same birth year as my father). RIP Betty.1 point

An Icon in every sense of the word. I was first introduced to her as Sue Ann Nivens, on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I've loved everything she's done and stood for every since.1 point

RIP to an old High School friend Chris. He was So into music, both listening, and playing. He fronted a rock/punk band in Salem, MA for many years. Back in HS, he was heavy into the burgeoning punk scene, embracing the music and the style so very early. Yet he was one of the most kind and decent people I knew. He never drank or did drugs, he was so very tolerant of so many faults in others. And he loved his family and his dogs (he loved Sheltie's) with a vengeance. It sounds like he passed from COVID issues. (EDIT: Bacterial Pneumonia brought on by Covid. I'm pretty sure he was vaccinated too). Fuck Fuck Fuck.... My very favorite story about Chris: a couple years after graduation, I found myself in our hometown. Driving into a 5-way intersection in our downtown, I see Chris across the street. He was dressed wearing a T-Shirt from the band Discharge. I shouted out my window, "Hey, CHRIS....Discharge rules!" And he shouts back, "YO, Discharge....oh, HEY Todd...!" It was so much about the music for him. I can't seem to stop the tears....every time I think of him they start to flow. A pic from a few years ago, the 4 of us were pretty close in HS, Chris on the lower right. And then a video of him and his dog Beau.0 points

I'm very sad to report that our very own Carl Stephen "ironbut" Koto passed away on July 2, presumably from the lung cancer he informed us about in late May. Several of us have been concerned about his absence and both Ric and I (and maybe others) tried calling him to no avail, eventually receiving notice that the line was no longer in service. I tried searching for information but did not find anything until this morning I finally found a death notice for Carl Koto in Eugene, Oregon at age 66, and that must be him. š¢ Steve was a great and gentle guy and a fantastic Head-caser. His reel to reel rig will be remembered as one of the all-time best headphone experiences for many, many people. I'm happy that he had a few years of retirement in Eugene when he could make music and take it easy, but it truly sucks that he didn't have longer. Just to prove how humble and unassuming Steve was, I couldn't find a decent picture of him so I hope others can find more to post here. RIP Steve, you will be missed.0 points
