  7. ^^ This was good. Now: Carte Blanche Jean-Yves Thibaudet 2021 https://album.link/i/1578540196 Example: 24 tracks in an hour 20! Lots of playing. Example is one of the fast works. I really appreciated the collection of pieces that I didn't know that well. Some I will explore a bit more. Good recording and performance. Don't know if I have heard Jean-Yves before or not but will check out catalog. Edit: Oh yeah, I remember looking like this (1990) What's up with everyone getting older? Glad I don't

  9. Well, I think it's not just because it's sampling a sax, but the sax is played fiercely and dissonantly

  10. A Southern Gothic Adia Victoria 2021 https://album.link/i/1578879750 Example: Really enjoyed this album from Adia (new to me). Very well recorded and her signing techniques are top notch. I will have to listen again for content, and check out her other works.

  11. Not a fan of TCIC after listening to Hyper... It just sounds like techno. I guess because they sample a sax, that makes it jazz?

  12. Vadim Neselovskyi - Odesa Another jazz album that made the top 2022 lists and that I hadn't listened to. To me a lot more enjoyable than TCIC's one. This one is not classic jazz by any means, it's rather lyrical and has very interesting moments. The pianist is virtuosoborderline.

  13. If +220V out from PSU you should have +200V on pin1 and 6 and +69V on pin 2 and 7 upper small tube. Lower small tube should have +71V on pin 1 and 6. Your -334V on EL34 Pin 8 seems to be too high, I would expect something like -400V or lower. This, of course, is in a perfect world. What supply voltages do you read on the amplifier board?

  14. This too. Serious talent and very expressive.

  15. no thats just the feedback loop from the output to the input valve. the actual audio signal path is far more complicated. the output is provided by the el34 valves. Powered from constant current devices connected to their anodes/plates.

  16. have you designed the amp side as single ended i.e. rca input or balanced i.e. xlr input? if you are running single ended then the - input side needs connecting to ground. assuming that is ok next check the input (i.e. grids) on the 6922s that connect to the inptut and check you actually have a signal on both. next check the input i.e. grid of the other 6922s to check you have an input to them next check the grids of the el34s to check they have an input this should give you an indication of where your signal is disappearing. I assume you scope is set for 10M input and NOT 50ohm... also I assume you scope probes are set to x10 so you don't overload the front end of your scope I also assume you have checked all the dc voltage inputs to the amp board and they are correct. have you got a volume pot on the input or are you feeding 1Vrms directly into the amp? if i remember correctly the min t2 is about x1000 gain

  17. the automatic servo is limited in the range it can compensate for. So removing the jumper allows you to manually adjust so the servo does not need to do much work then you can add the jumper to activate the automatic servo.

  18. The Secret Piano Alexis Ffrench 2009 https://album.link/i/342515423 Example: Relaxing piano works for the end of the day. Man I listened to a lot of albums today. Many I didn't post because they were not worthy. But I liked Alexis' album, and also listened to his most recent stuff as well. This is a mood thing for me, and I was in the mood.

  19. ^^ enjoyed. 50yo Paul Simon Paul Simon 1972 https://album.link/i/380588824 Example: Well, not a great album. I really like Example track or course, but pretty thin beyond that. It does not seem that he found his solo voice until later on.

  21. Had a nice Hanukkah celebration at my father's tonight; good amount of family was there. My son is his father's son for sure; he got me a T-Shirt as an "extended" part of my birthday gift. He said technically it's true as he would be called Progressive....smart-ass! 😄 But he's MY smart-ass and I love him!

  23. Thanks for posted picture Kerry. Your astonishing builds are very inspiring. In the original T2 PSU the 60-volt section is regulated by LT783 which I think is good enough. But inspired by Kerry I did this little fellow (the small copper clad with test leads) to replace the LT783 regulator. Connected to main board via three connections. Works like a charm – knock on wood.

  24. Tested the negative GRHV today, same performance. Was regulating at -55Vdc with the 100K resistor in. Removed it and tested at full voltage. -406.5Vdc, stable. Now for the Carbon boards.

  25. OK, powered up and works great. 406Vdc, stable. Bias is 576-580 at bias TP (drifting up a bit). What is the max for pro bias?

  31. Same Jim, power kicked out here around 8pm last night when a second cell went thru and hit us with some crazy gusts for a bit. Lots of trees down which made going to pick up the kids quite the adventure. Still no power here which makes this one of the longest outages we've had since we bought the house (11+hrs). Everything is ok for now, both fridges powered, house mostly heated, etc. But the temps dropped like a rock over night (from 50 to 10F) so things are going to be wickedly frozen out in the world. Here's to hoping the power comes back on soon. I'd prefer not to attempt to cook Christmas breakfast on a single burner.

  32. The bomb cyclone knocked out power in Northfield (and a good chunk of the rest of Vermont). But we got our generator working on propane so we have working heat, refrigerator, stove and outlets in one room. Trying to conserve propane to just use the essentials since this is the first time we used this generator in Vermont and it is unclear how long this may last. Update: The power came back on around 6:15. The generator worked great and we were able to make a nice dinner and finish eating before power was restored. We feel pretty good about the first test.
