  1. Yep, Golden Gate Park. Funny thing about Suzy... She's been walking in circles for a while now. She just keeps going over the same area over and over, and at somewhere other than home she will do it for hours. Even at familiar places like Al's house. She'll do it until she's so tired She'll just drop. At home She'll do it as well, but just for shorter bursts of time. Then she'll jump on the couch next to me and nap. Today, before heading to GG Park, we bought her a new harness, because her old one is way too big now. And as soon as we got to the sight of the game, she started doing circles. But today she did circles around the young children of my co-workers. She used to be afraid of young kids, but today she not only circled them, which they thought was funny and great, but she actually sought out their attention. She let all of them walk her around on her leash, even to the point where she couldn't see me anymore. That would have been unheard of just a few months ago. It's really funny how the brain works, or changes. At 14 years old she's completely different than the dog I knew so well. Still as sweet and bonded to me as ever, but discovering new sides of herself. It's a journey we're both opening ourselves up to.

  2. Had a company soccer match/B-B-Q. We played against the plumbers. Had company jerseys and all. Great fun. I cheered from the sidelines with Suzy helping to motivate. Suzy had a well deserved nap on the way home.

  3. I would put the miniDSP on top of the phono stage as I never feel good about putting anything on or under an amp. I also have a big box full of RCA cables that I will never use. If you tell me what length you need I can check to see if I have any that would work for you. You would make my wife happy because I would be getting rid of “useless crap”.

  5. So working to get my sacd player back in rotation. That means I need to stack two components on top of each other. my rack has one open location, then two shelves behind a door. I have: Pass XP15, Esoteric K-05x, MiniDSP SHD, Berning MicroZOTL (old style) I was thinking of the digital spinner on the bottom, as it needs the rear cutouts for inflexible cables. I like the amp visible on top. That then means stacking the miniDSP on the photo stage or under the amp and not sure which one is better. It’s a tight fit either way. As an aside I will run the spinner single ended as I need the extra balanced voltage swing for my low output carts. I haven’t done this yet so that will be a bit of a change. I guess I need to find a cable long enough - been a while since I bought a RCA cable Any suggestions or thoughts?

  6. This is very sad and a lot of Single Power influence here, cheaper parts used in series and parallel. I see the A, B and C markings so is there a PSU schematic as well? Edit: Never mind, I found the thread and wow... google translate may not be doing some of those people any favors but there was some class A stupidity going on. Point to point always sounds better than PCB's!!! The Viva may be crap but it sounds so good with the X9000!! Yeah... might be because the X9000 is also crap? Just an idea... Anyway some more pics from that thread: Just look at this mess, hot glue everywhere (where they should have used lacquer paint) and cheap parts everywhere. Not sure why that woolen stuff and zip tie is on the selector switch but that is the ultra cheap switches I can buy at the local store for 2$. Then we have this gem... why is a part of the shrink wrap on the cap missing and just what on earth is that supposed to be? A bridge rectifier? This might actually worse than Single Power but remember kids, a nice PCB with length matched traces sounds far worse than this!! Now look at this picture of loveliness, a Rifa X2 (as in power supply suppression cap) ,known all over the world for their tendency to fail short (look up Rifa madness) being used in a "high end" amp. Not even Single Power stooped this low, he might have "tuned" the circuit by placing an Audio Note silver cap in series with an Orange Drop but they are at least good caps. This is just pure and utter garbage. I just love this picture, look at that mess of wires into a bundle of solder. Extra price for the burn marks on the cap as zero fucks are given here. They should seriously have this as a promo picture. Last picture and would you look at those XLR inputs... yeah that's one way of dealing with a XLR to RCA conversion... just not hook anything up to pin 3 of the XLR sockets. I'm sure there is some owner of this piece of trash that claims massive improvements when it is run balanced... Also, look at the soldering on that, I'm sure those RCA's came with nice ground tabs but nope, fuck it, let's just solder directly to the thread and have it leaking down and almost touching the center pin. Lastly, I just love we are getting this from my good friend at JR Audio, one of the few builders of electrostatic equipment who is actually worse than this. I wonder if he's looking for pointers to becoming even worse?

  7. ^Golden Gate Park? Went for a stroll around King Mountain with Joanne and some of the ladies from her book club. Weather was nice, after all the rain, as were the views. And the wildlife. Played "guess the price" with them on the following properties. When a $5M miss is "close enough" http://www.kingmountainestate.com/ https://www.70ridgecrest.com/ I even managed to find the property video from 8 years ago when it was "only" a $2.2M tear down.

  8. Another fun weekend out autocrossing! Vroom, vroom! I never was able to put a clean run together and felt like I left at least a second or two out on the track, but we still were able to beat some of the modern 911 drivers. I was the only crossover in the field, and the most common thing I heard was "my wife really wants one of those!" I take it as a compliment. A few random observations: Had a ride along with my instructor driving his GT3. I see why people go crazy for them. What a machine. So much grip. I want one. Badly! There was a 911 Turbo in my run group and I can't believe how fast that thing is in a stright line. He was probably the second heaviest car in the field after me. Watching the older cars run the course is my favorite. They look so majestic out there and I'm glad the owners don't baby them. After-market exhaust on most cars is so stupid. You already are driving a sports car with factory sport exhaust. Making it twice as loud is silly. Some random photos I snapped.

  9. So I received the bushing set a day early and think I got it all setup. I guess the dust collection has to come off when using the bushing insert?

  15. Just finished a v1.21 board SuSy version. Volume controll is in the DAC, left that out, just a power HPamp. Running on 200mA, only balanced in- and output. THAT340 (could not find anything else in Europe), Nichicon Muse caps, SPC cables, dual v0.44 GRLV with 100VA/24V. Modushop 2U Dissipante 300 and 2U SlimLine 280. Thanks go to Mirko for the remote support and to Dr. Gilmore for the incredible design!!

  18. no output transformers on the other side. Products (vivaaudio.com) looks to be a phase splitter output similar to the beveridge speaker. balanced from a single ended input. what a massive piece of crap this is.
