  1. a little less fancy, just under a 3lb chunk happy 4th {bypass}
  2. More overly complicated potatoes.
  3. Yesterday I repaired a Canon ef 17-55mm f/2.8. I bought it broken for €150, the diaphragm didn't work and here the ST does not repair them, so you have to send it to the mainland. This lens cost arround 800€ new here. For 3 bucks I bought the flex wire conection that moves the diaphragm and after 5 hours of work (I had never opened an objective) and a hour cleaning glasses.... I was able to leave it as good as new. After a good while taking this thing apart: The damn broken flex wire: Its alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Speaking of Speaking for itself: Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section (OJC Remaster) Art Pepper 1957 https://album.link/i/1443151711 Example: I cannot want much more than Art playing a Gillespie tune. Well and all the other tunes on this album. It must have been pretty amazing to have been into jazz between 1955-64, and hearing these albums for the first time without standards being standards. Add more pepper to your day, it is a good thing.
  5. This song will now get stuck in your head.
  6. Half Alive - Not yet, now ex.

  10. Congrats! Awesome news
  11. It sounds like music written by a Large Language Model (Large Musical Model?) - a compilation of everything that came before. As such, it's the antithesis of creative, but it's perfectly structured for now.
  12. I got nothing. It's actually a really nice song, but it's obviously lyrics oriented, and I'm not a lyrics listener, so... I got nuthin'. (My life's too short for me to give it much more effort than one listen. Sorry.)
  13. The post storm continues… Usually go with a different cut, but got a New York Strip at Campfire in Arcata and it was so on the money. Mel went with halibut and Esmé chicken. Finished with a ridiculous s'mores chocolate cheesecake.
  14. My only remaining sibling, my oldest Brother Rob, is now retired and spending the summers back in Alaska. Kenai, to be specific. That means that I now have a smoked salmon source once again. So, a Barton's Bagel from San Anselmo, cream cheese and the aforementioned smoked salmon.

    With the three cats bonded with three members of the family, Piper was feeling left out. So now we’re a four cat family. Picked up a female Flame Point Siamese tonight from the same rescue as our two other meezers. Just over a year old. We haven’t settled in a name yet, but with Nutella, Marshmallow and Jelly Bean, we kind of feel the need to stay on-brand. Tough to get a good picture because she won’t stop moving to get more pets. But she’s settling in quickly. We’ll keep her separated from the other kitties for a few days. And I think it’s safe to say we’re good on cats.
  16. Next one I make like this will have the middle stripe of sauce and toppings under the cheese and clean on top. Detroit Bolivia!
  17. Welcome to Bolivia - land of giant Za.

    Cicada season is over, lizard season is in! Oh and this is always in season.
  22. I made my barbecue pork/ghoulash today. Pork was a little ... ripe, but I've eaten worse so won't discard. House might smell for a few weeks, here's to hoping my landlord doesn't evict me.
