  6. Used Gemini to fix and update my Ubuntu server. At one point, I had a great success, so I told it, "(party favour noise)", and it responded, "(confetti cannon fires)", LOL.

  22. Had a crazy commute to work this morning. I thought that I had been transported back to South Texas. Thunder, lightning and rain coming down at a volume the windshield wipers couldn't keep up with.

  24. Five coasters and an outboard cup holder? It seems like you plan to have many drinks simultaneously while working at that desk. 😳
  25. As a follow up. We did have a great talk. He was completely unaware of how offensive I took it. He also quoted me back to me, when I told him that gay men love gay jokes more than anyone. After I explained my experience with that hellish disease he actually started tearing up and apologized profusely. He really had no idea. He even gave me a hug, which cemented that he didn't mean to offend me in any way. I'm too sensitive about that subject, I'm certain. But all is well.

  27. Yeah, shawarma is good stuff. I've had the Wegmans pre-marinated stuff, restaurant made (today, even!), and it would have disappeared faster than light with me around, too. Yum yum yum, gnosh gnosh gnosh, yum yum yum
  28. Cooked yesterday in a marathon session so that dinner was a non-event (prep wise) tonight. Chicken shawarma with homemade naan. The naan was all I managed a pic of.

Bobby (the cat pictured in the beginning of this thread) was put down a year and a half ago. Skye (companion I got for Bobby in 2014) got sick the next month. I fed her through a feeding tube and saved her life. But not fully. She passed away a week ago. In my hands. I was heartbroken. She made this trilling sound -- like a pigeon cooing -- all the time, to get my attention. It was always very insistent. I heard it today. I started to respond (I make a version of that noise in response, to let her know, "I hear you."), but then I realized I will never hear that sound again from her. My heart broke all over again. RIP Skye (2014-2026)
