…limited. It’s a Stax SRM-600 Limited. Now I’ve got it modified with constant current sources instead of the power resistors. The CCSs are 01N100D/LT1021 by Kerry – see this post. The board looks like this and is connected to the main board via 16 pin headers to the holes for power resistors. Current sources set to 6.0 mA.5 points

This year marks a return to form (hopefully) and therefore I'm prepping to ride the full century in support of the Kelly Brush Foundation. The effects of the tick bite appear to have waned since around Christmas so I've been training hard, mixing in quite a bit of mountain bike riding as well as other non-bike-related exercise and actually doing a little weight training. It appears to be paying off. For those that don't know, the Kelly Brush Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with spinal cord injuries in finding ways to get out and enjoy an active lifestyle. For me, this is a cause close to my heart. I love the outdoors and the freedom to explore it in a variety of ways and have worked with organizations like the KBF for the last twenty years to help others do the same. The mission remains the same, regardless of distance, so I'm trying to raise a bunch of money again this. As usual, all of the donations are tax deductible and like last year I'm looking for interesting ways to sweeten the pot if you open your wallet a little bit. To start, I'll do the same thing that I did last year. Any donation in excess of $50 ears itself a shipment of at least two choice New England beers. Top $100 and it'll at least be a mixed 4pk. I've already been working on my stash of Maine-based beer to start things off and will undoubtedly be doing some shopping when in VT on the way to the ride. Here's the link to donate - https://kbf.akaraisin.com/ui/16790/participant/3444604?Lang=en-US - any donation is greatly appreciated, large or small. Thanks, Nate3 points

Al1ce/Alice Underground, The Thirteenth Hour -- these guys are so great -- they have the hooks and earworminess of show tunes and anime theme songs, but they're dark and gothy-ish and hard and I love them so hard. Their previous album was my favourite album of that year for me, and this one is probably going to be my favourite of this year. And the singer is all kinds of hot.1 point

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/ifi-audio-pro-iesl-the-official-thread.852364/page-7#post-14413330 Ahhh nice of ifi to question my knowledge of electronics. I always feel nice when somebody does that while not addressing any of my major concerns. I guess I have to buy one of these and rip it apart. In other news, I don't like the direction Stax is taking with the made-in-china amps. They have stopped using Japanese caps and instead are using these gems in the D-50: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=58678 Might just be my new favorite forum... So we will go from Stax amps needing nothing for 20-30 years to perhaps a 5 year life before the caps give out? That's not really a move forward in my book...1 point

Updated shipping for all US based people. If the remainder is in red then it is the final amount you owe me and I will ship as soon as you pay me. For international people I still have to fill out your customs forms which I'm trying to do as fast as I can. I didn't add international shipping yet but from what I saw it ranged from $24-$35 depending on where you are located. I was going to have them reshipped from my contact in France, but at this price it ends up nearly the same. I also have extra side panels for anyone that wants to drill their own aluminum sheets. They are 6.8" long which is the length you need for the Dynalo Mini.1 point

Having an infrared side burner on the grill is pretty fucking awesome. Thanks for the tip Marc. Indirect heat @225F for 30 minutes and then a 30 second sear per side on the infrared burner.1 point
