November 18, 201213 yr It looks very nice Steve. I've missed some familiar object in the pics to get an idea of the actual size. It's probably smaller than it looks in the pics, isn't it?
November 18, 201213 yr Author That handle on top is a standard kitchen cabinet drawer pull. The rack is about 11.5" wide, about 13" tall and just over 10" deep.
November 18, 201213 yr Cool, right about the size of those "midi" systems which were popular in the 90s. But way beyond them in performance and good looks
November 18, 201213 yr If it helps Torp, here's a single Z component next to a full rack Parasound transport (wood also by The Master). They're nice little (heavy) things.

November 19, 201213 yr just catching up, cool stuff steve. Glad you could find all your tools to get the project done, though you know I would have let you come up and use mine :)
November 19, 201213 yr Components matching ftw! My hodge podge of divergent manufacturers' gear is an eyesore in comparison.
November 26, 201213 yr Author All done. You can see that the back is pretty tidy w/short interconnects. CraZy nice Steve! Curious to hear how it stacks up to the Buffalo. They are fairly different in presentation. The Buffalo I'd call more technically accurate, while the Parasound is more colored. It's a fun coloration though, and for sub $500.00, a pretty darned nice DAC IMO. I tend to like the Parasound more with the Beta22, and the Buffalo more with the F5. The Zdac makes the Beta a bit more musical, but the F5 already is, so the more neutral Buffalo serves it well. The Parasound stack does a damned nice job driving the K1000 in it's own right, but both the Beta22 and the Pass F5 are a bit more discerning. A very cool office rig however, IMO.
November 26, 201213 yr Nice! Looks superb! However ... that handle. You really think a kitchen cabinet handle can handle (ahem) that weight?
November 27, 201213 yr Author Nice! Looks superb! However ... that handle. You really think a kitchen cabinet handle can handle (ahem) that weight? Sure it can. I used some fender washers on the underside. Do you have some analog cables with the channels flipped? Yep, good catch! Actually had the right channels on the reverse inputs. The power amps are correct however. That's the way they connect in mono. Edited November 27, 201213 yr by swt61
May 8, 201313 yr Damn that Parasound is super nice. I've long had a thing for good mini-systems. This is the first rig I've seen which makes me consider ditching my old Toshiba system 15 stack. I now hate you. Lots.
May 8, 201313 yr Author I I now hate you. That usually doesn't happen until after I've had sex with someone. I really like the portability! I can just unplug the power cables, grab the handle and carry to the motor home, a friends house (one I haven't had sex with), a meet, or wherever.
May 8, 201313 yr Author Thanks! It doesn't get all that much use, as the M-22/Buffalo 32 is my main system, but it's very convenient at times.
