When you think of Santa Claus (not me specifically, but just in general), how tall do you perceive him to be?  Just curious, and just for fun.

Never thought of this, but interesting question. Easy to imagine a wide variance of possibilities. Probably depends on perspective.

I think about 6ft or so as rotund looks about in proportion at that height and you're short enough that you shouldn't scare little kids too much.

About my height, just under 6ft tall.

The ratio of girth to height is also important.  I'd say somewhere around 0.65 is ideal.

The video obviously is wrong. While nowadays we have the luck of having presents brought by Santa and The Three Wise Men (Reyes Magos) on Christmas Eve and Epiphany Eve, when I was a kid only Los Reyes Magos were bringing them. Not sure if that was a Catholic thing or a wealth one. However we were aware of Santa's existence and we already knew he spent part of his holidays on our sunny and warm beaches, but not in summer, but around the Easter time. Tapas, jamón de bellota pata negra, Ribera de Duero and all those gourmandises are to blame of his round belly. I saw him several times when I lived in the Mediterranean Coast

Just seems so terribly wrong, Ric.  I can actually feel his pain... and that of so many horrified observers.  It's like something out of a really bad B movie, or maybe a Kevin Smith movie.  No wait, that's kind of the same thing.

What's the visualization when people are approximating his height? Shaking his hand? He inspecting elves work? Flying across the sky?

When I was a kid, I thought Santa was a giant, like 10 feet tall.  Don't know why I thought that, but it seemed right at the time.  Now, I don't really think about Santa at all (sorry).

I always thought of him as really tall but that was mostly seeing him when I was a kid.  Of course, I think everyone is really tall (at least they are really tall to me).
