I put on my HD650s yesterday, first time in a while (been listening to speakers) and sometimes I wonder if I even need to upgrade to the 800s.

Of all the phones I've heard, I still prefer the tonality of these the most. Its not clinical, its not boring, and nothing sticks out. And I can listen to them for hours on end.

I imagine the HD800 is infinitely better than anything Beyerdynamic could ever put out.

I'm hoping the T1 is a good phone.

This. To me, the 650 is one of the best out there.

Nice Nate. I really like the adjustable nickless squeeze type strippers. The "depth" gauge is an added bonus, which allows to to strip exactly the same amount of each wire. They aren't cheap, but here's the one I have:

Yeah Marc, those are nice (albeit 3x as $$) but my gripe is that they don't cover much range. The one you listed will do 30 to 20 and I often find myself working with 18 and 16ga wires and the thought of buying 2 @ $50+ each is more than this humble DIYer's budget can bear. And it would appear that 18ga is the largest any of them can handle...

I've never seen you use that stripper Marc. And I've seen you with plenty of strippers! :P

I use one very similar to this and it works well with wires from 28 and down to 12 which is the largest I've tried. I'm so happy with it that I'm going to buy another one tomorrow... :D

Black 64" JH|13 cable for Marc to re-terminate with Tiny XLR connector for the JFET Fury!

So the amp will have a mini XLR connector?

Sweet! That's going to be a killer setup Al, congrats!

Yes, the final version will have the digital volume display and the Neutrik Tiny XLR connector on the front. Marc will make up a Tiny XLR > Standard 4-pin XLR adapter for the bigger cans with bigger plugses. There is some question as to whether there will also be a 1/8" mini jack, but I am not sure where that stands. Very excited to hear the amp and drive those little JH Audio cans in balanced mode without the odd little plastic magnet connector. :P

Now it just needs an uber cool name like Ray's amps.

I'll suggest 'The Protagonist'.

I bought a thing "Scaler" for taking plaque off my dogs teeth for $9 after taking him to a groomer for a $15 cleaning that improved things but did not get it all off.

Pretty much anything is worth a try vs $400+ for the vet to do it. :palm:

<Post 2k :)

Motor oil to top off the old Beetle.

Glass dildo?

....... but nothing precludes it being used as a big glass dildo...... :)

Sounds like a PITA to me. Is use #1 to sharpen the shovel?
