June 11, 201214 yr Just saw twice. Damn the H&A mini-arc was beautiful. Great, great show. Marnie's storyline is boring and trite for the most part, but the scene with the adventure capitalist was still funny.
June 16, 201214 yr The Killing, season 1 finale. Dang, why did it take so long for me to get into this series? Now I have to find Season 2 somehow, since it's not available on-demand
June 23, 201214 yr Back to Breaking Bad again. Now if I can just get hubby hooked. It is a bit too heavy for him. Edited June 23, 201214 yr by shellylh
June 23, 201214 yr BBC's Jayne Eyre, I have a slight infatuation with Ruth Wilson. Finished Season 2 of Luther. Hoping for a Season 3. There will be, with most of the main S2 cast returning: http://blogs.indiewi...is_elbas_luther Won't be the same without Alice though. She is a creature as whole as she is broken. July 4, 201213 yr Not streaming Luther via Netflix last night because my PS3 (fat 160G) required yet another fucking Sony update which coincided with said PS3's subsequent crap out, vis-a-vis the dreaded red blinking power light on restart. From what I've been able to cull from the Internets, this is likely a motherboard issue requiring a repair. Shutting off the main power switch overnight didn't help. Damn, less than four years of extremely light use as soley a Blu-Ray player/Netfix streamer (never had a game played thru it). Seems to be the average lifespan of electronics these days.
July 7, 201213 yr Finished the last episode of Inside Men (starring the two non-Luther cop actors), waiting for the second of Blackout (starring Christopher Eccleston), and trying to finish the last half of The Prisoner (remake with Jim Caviezel, Ruth Wilson, and Magneto). The latter seems to be getting better, hoping the ending makes up. But Lawrence Miles said it was good, and he wrote Alien Bodies, so. Edited July 7, 201213 yr by Kirosia
July 7, 201213 yr UK - Sky show - 'The Cafe' lovely little show.. but the way that it is shot and directed is incredible. Who has a 5 minute uncut tracking shot in a 20 min tv comedy?
July 8, 201213 yr Masterchef Australia and The Grifters (John Cusack). Highly recommend The Prisoner, not perfect, but satisfying enough in the end for a six-ep marathon. Oh, and it's all on YT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LXsb4COaEM&list=PLF737398287572434&index=1&feature=plpp_video Edited July 8, 201213 yr by Kirosia
July 9, 201213 yr If you like The Grifters check out After Dark My Sweet, a film of the same year also based on Jim Thompson. Even better in my book.
July 22, 201213 yr Fishing With John (1991) Musician and actor John Lurie may know very little about fishing, but that doesn't stop him from rounding up an eclectic bunch of celebrity friends and hitting the great outdoors in search of scaly trophies in this tongue-in-cheek documentary series. W/ Jim Jarmush, Tom Waits, Matt Dillon, Willem Dafoe, and Dennis Hopper. Started laughing as soon as I heard the theme song. Available on Netflix. Edited July 22, 201213 yr by NightWoundsTime
