My sainted mother is visiting from Marthas Vineyard, so I've been showing her a few old films.  Last night we watched The Black Cat (1934), which stars Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff.  Both men were at

7 :) & 9 :( , though the finale is fitting too.

7 was wild. Gotta get through 8 before the next extra good one. :D

As much as I like more high-minded stuff, without question this is my favorite show on TV.

Every week I tune in and every week I am crying with laughter. These four guys are just so funny. They have the best chemistry together of any hosts of any live-action program I've ever seen, sports or otherwise. I DVR it every week regardless of whatever game proceeds it.

Finished The Knick season 1.  I liked it more and more as it got rolling and have recently read a couple of novels set in NYC in that time period so it was interesting to see the same themes on screen.

Hardly a fringe sport mikey. It's only second to soccer in terms of popularity and participation when looked at globally.

are you talking about arise? they really did a number to the characters

Yes, I mean Arise -- I actually think it makes more sense that she's petite, I always thought her large breasts conflicted with her badass ninja fighting skills, especially if it's a body type that she chose, rather than grew into.

While looking for her version of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You (I Love You Baby)", I stumbled across this:

You just don't get her balls out punk influence if all you ever listen to is the perfect Kalk Samen Kuri no Hana.

Also, still watching Steins;gate -- favourite recent discovery anime -- you hear that Stephen?  You need to check this out.

Sonic Highways....

(this is literally the only band I need to see live at this point - other than Paul McCartney before I cannot)

The Dusty Towne Sexy Holiday Special. Man, I miss SCTV.

Just finished the last episode of Boardwalk Empire.  I definitely enjoyed the flashbacks from the last season.

I am now ready to get rid of cable (after the Superbowl party on Sunday).

First couple episodes of Transparent. Just as good as everyone says.

I think I watched two and was not convinced.  I may try again.
