Had a good time hanging out with JP, Al and Ric. It's too bad that you NorCal'ers will be losing JP, he is a cool guy (Al and Ric aren't too bad either :) ).

I spent most of the day buried under work and comparisons between numerical and experimental results that just didn't make sense. Figured out that the lab that did the experimental work screwed up yet again in their analysis. Fuck they are useless. Also the co-worker (and now member of my staff) that was supposed to do the analysis is useless too. Frustrating day overall.

Though I'm off to an awesome dinner in about 45 min. :)

Had my folks drop Ivan off at the vet for his annual checkup since I had to work. He got so stressed and worked up having to fight the vet and all the techs all day long that his blood pressure shot up to the point his eardrums started to bleed. My poor kitty. Thank god he did some damage to the evil ones in the process. Now he's home, drugged up on sedatives and pain meds. They're waiting for tests results on his thyroid, saying that kind of blood pressure in a young guy, no matter how stressed, just isn't right.

Hired a bodyguard for the wife. Kinda weird. Former South African special forces blah blah blah. If it's going to turn out like The Bodyguard, I hope he's been lifting weights. And I simultaneously deny that I ever said that.

You only have a few minutes to edit that so think long and hard how it would go over with the "little woman." :P Hiring a bodyguard for your wife is very weird. How often will he be needed?

How often will he be needed?

Hopefully not several times a night. ;)

Make him teach you some cool shit (e.g., head control).

I'd recommend wrist control as well.

Hopefully not several times a night. ;)

Well, at least it would be one less job to do around the house......

Heh. The client is fully able to repel such advances herself. The headache is attributable to some Belgian monks and Scottish distillers.

Sorry for your loss KD.

Me: Just took apart our broken treadmill, returned it and picked up its replacement. Waiting for Karen and Peter to return from swimming lessons so we can drive up to Champaign and get some Sashimi.

My wife and I made dinner together ... a first in our 33 years together. Then we went to Cirque Dreams Illumination. First hour was very entertaining. After intermission sucked. Nice night out with my bride.

How the fuck does that happen?

Meh, the only Cirque production I have seen was Allegria, and it was pretty boring. Too much pretentious arty crap for this philistine. Glad at least half of yours was good though :)

Almost missed a checkin but was saved by a witty change to an express train hehe

Didnt help that I was liquored up at the time...
