New Denon Cans

Well, this document would at least seem to suggest that some of the rumors that I have been hearing over the past 6 months are true.

From what I've heard the rumored street price in the US is ~$1000.

There's also a thread on Head-Fi about this, but I don't think there's much in the way of additional information there, just a couple of new pictures.

I cannot wait to know what markl will do to improve them! If his D5000 is the R10 equivalent, then he should be able to make this one induce orgasms while listening. :o

So who is going to buy them 1st and tell us if they are any good?

I nominate posty with his balanced Beta22. >:D

I like how in that document it proclaims (Real Wood!). I wonder if the lettering will fall off of this model too. For 1000 dollars I would expect that it wouldn't but who knows. I bet this will be be ~ED-9s at best.

I think I'll hold out for the D10000 before giving it a shot ;p

maybe these are just repackaged markl modded D5000s and he sold Denon the rights to his novel "upgrade procedure"?

I think markl has already made comments about how this design is probably as "inferior" as the D5000.:palm:

I hope these are more robust. They certainly don't look much different, but we'll have to wait and see. I liked the D5000's enough that I am highly curious about these, especially since they're closed. So if no-one in my area gets a pair, I'll get a pair, but it'll wait until at least December-ish, probably more like next year some time. Thanks for posting the info on them.

Looks like the D5000 with new drivers?

But "Real Wood" can't go wrong there.

haha this looks great, I want to demo >_< "Real Wood" <-- Can't believe they had to box that. What else could ~$1000 headphones be made out of? Plastic wood?

edit: I have a feeling what is going to happen.. I'll prevent it myself.

mod edit: no word games...

I accept Haj and Mike's challenge. I have some extra cash from some recent sales and will probably be willing to be an early adopter. Any idea of a street date?

You just need to know where to look for one.

Ken: Your girlfriend's very pretty.

Jimmy: She's ain't my girlfriend. She's a prostitute I just picked up.

Ken: I was not aware that there were any prostitutes in Bruges.

Jimmy: You just have to look in the right places... brothels are good.

Ken: Well, you've picked up a very pretty prostitute.

would you like to help me become a late adopter of a MacBook Air, instead?

For that matter, how about helping me become a late adopter to either iPod touch or iPhone?

I'm losing faith in you, I was expecting a picture.
