May 11, 200917 yr Justin's Pico Slim gets leaked, and so Ray announces a direct competitor that's "in the works"... News - Ray Samuels Audio Last year I received a PM from a head-fier gbx2006 who sent this link Digital Volume Control and asked me if I would consider digital volume control to make the P-51 even thinner. I told him I was already working on it but with a control with higher quality and usability for audio than in the link, and it was called The Shadow. If you think the Emmeline P-51, Mustang, is very, very small, think again. The new volume control allows me to not only make The Shadow even smaller but also improve performance and usability.
May 11, 200917 yr And no doubt it will rival the b-52 in sound quality, rendering every other RSA product useless.
May 11, 200917 yr Clearly a complete coincidence! Don't be hating. Also, if it is 30% thinner will that mean it needs 30% less burn-in?
May 11, 200917 yr I loved the BS about having 3000 pots that are of no use to him. Does anybody think that Ray has sold 3000 portable amps?
May 11, 200917 yr shit, I'm making a portable amp with NO volume control. gunna be thin son. In for group buy.
May 11, 200917 yr shit, I'm making a portable amp with NO volume control. gunna be thin son. This amp will have the infamous "Postjack volume" setting?
May 11, 200917 yr unfortunately i have no doubt that he has Given how vastly inflated the Apache and B52 sales figures are I just assumed this was the usual BS that Ray spews.
May 11, 200917 yr Given how vastly inflated the Apache and B52 sales figures are I just assumed this was the usual BS that Ray spews. Given how many portable amps he has and the extrapolated sales numbers on those, I would almost call 3000, a bit low.
May 11, 200917 yr ray has mentioned to me the shadow two months ago, only the name was said not the details..
May 11, 200917 yr ray has mentioned to me the shadow two months ago, only the name was said not the details.. History became legend. Legend became myth. For the time will soon come when hobbits will shape the fortunes of all...
May 11, 200917 yr I once had a Hornet, it made static noise when I turned the volume control, but Ray said it was normal behaviour. He finally solved the problem, no more volume control, yay!

May 11, 200917 yr I once had a Hornet, it made static noise when I turned the volume control, but Ray said it was normal behaviour. He finally solved the problem, no more volume control, yay! Yeah that is normal behavior... for a pot that has DC on it. Not good.
May 11, 200917 yr This amp will have the infamous "Postjack volume" setting? yessir, and in conjunction with Nugget Audio we've created the world's first Attenuation Defeater, which finally makes any attempt at external volume control futile. also: LOL at reks.
May 11, 200917 yr I haven't given out details on what I am using yet. At best, he can be using the same thing that I am, because nothing better exists. I went with a rotary pot/knob interface for it, although anything could be used - rotary encoder, push buttons, toggle switch, thumb wheel...because I feel a lot of hand holding is going to be needed to get people comfortable with the words 'digital volume control'.
