Torpedo Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Now I can see one picture. The video kind of plays because the cursor runs and there's audio, like a background piano, but no image. Probably some missing codec in this browser. Whatever. Quote

Knuckledragger Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 This is hardly porn, but... I got a Velodyne CHT powered sub for the low price of "you're first in line, come pick it up" today. #MVLife Spoiler Now in the correct thread. 7 Quote
swt61 Posted May 18 Report Posted May 18 Several years back, I met a Head-Fi member from San Antonio, known as plaid platypus. I visited his home and was very impressed with his Genelec system. Today Genelec's pinnacle loud speaker is the 8381A. It's a 5 way adaptive point source monitor. At $32,000 per speaker, it's not cheap. But as a fan of the Genelec sound, I'd love to hear these speakers. 8 Quote

LostHisMarbles Posted July 6 Report Posted July 6 I have the audiovisual for that above pic, yessir i do. Starts with pops hauling crates, making noises down in the garage, real early like. Pregnant pause before he walks in from the kitchen door and i look up real doe-like. Queueing the audio in in my imaginary mixer: Son? Yes sir? We've got work to do today, eat that breakfast. Yessir! And don't discuss any of this with your mother, you hear me? 1 Quote
Craig Sawyers Posted yesterday at 06:59 AM Report Posted yesterday at 06:59 AM My son has two cats. He also plays bass guitar, and has a monster loudspeaker with a massive port on the bottom. You can guess the punchline. One of the cats went missing. After a search of the house and outdoors - no cat. Lots of weeping and wailing. Was the cat dead somewhere? It had actually made a nice warm nest in the loudspeaker wadding. Only discovered when my son fired up the amp and did some playing. Cat shot out of the port. Mystery solved. 6 Quote
Knuckledragger Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago This is absolutely crazy. Th Those are Legacy Whispers. I'm enough of a nerd to remember when they came out in the early 90s. They were Legacy's statement model. They're actually not as bassy as the Focus model (which I have coveted for 35 years now) but they excel in more or less every other aspect. Of course, the way to get around the lack of bass is: 4 1 1 Quote
skullguise Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago (edited) Holy shitballs! He found those in the trash...???!!! I've owned a couple Legacy speakers in my days: The Legacy Classic (Kevlar midrange edition, I think that was the second version of it), Karen actually got it for me as our engagement gift! Then very briefly the Signature 3's, and then the Studio HD's. I also remember going to a Head-Fi'er acquaintances place south of Boston, he had a pair of Legacy Focus (Focii?), driven by Krell KMA-100 mono's and a nice VAC preamp. Don't even remember his front end. That combo filled a small room surprisingly well! Such full sound, top to bottom; but still very relaxed and effortless sounding. The Whispers are nice-looking, would love to hear them. Also had read about a less deep bass response.... Edited 19 hours ago by skullguise 5 Quote
