Given Fannie and Freddie - Google News and the wonderfully reassuring statement "He admitted that he did not know the final cost to the taxpayer, saying: "In the end, the ultimate cost to the taxpayer will depend on the business results of the GSEs going forward." Good?, Bad?, Blank Check? We're All Doomed!? Or will switching on the LHC make it all irrelevant?

For another sign of technological and cultural changes, the first signs of todays LA quake seemed to start with Twitter posts and then spread to traditional media. Here is an example.

Saturday was one of those days. Listened to music on different systems from 10:00 til 7:00. Started out at the Zu Audio demo here ATL. Got to Here the new essence, definition and a prototype they are putting out shortly. The Defenition was a very good speaker, (they all were really) Listened to them with Pass XA30.5 and pass new preamp. Also with a 2.5 watt tube monos, and the Peachtree Nove. (also used as DAC w/laptop). Other source was an Esoteric, I think he said XA-10?? I prefered the Nova as source. Two things that really impressed were the package deals Zu is offering. They are offereng The Essence, Peachtree Nova, and all cables (he said around $1K worth of ther…

Friedrichs (AC7ZL) Homepage Look at the photo galleries linked at the bottom of that site, some very interesting-looking material there (not necessarily hi-fi, but nonetheless intriguing!). I might look into this sometime in the near-future.

So... For all of the super comics guys/gals here I've been eagerly anticipating the DC Comics Blackest Night Event, me being a "casual" and rather new comics reader I went to my local shop and created a "box" to subscribe to the series. It's maybe 6ish issues in now (crossovers) and I wanted to see what everyone thinks so far. To be honest yesterday I said to myself, all of these issues so far are pretty weak albiet highly rated by the comics community. Pretty much every issue I've read centers around the fact that the dead are coming to life and pwning all life... Sounds exactly to me like Marvel Zombies But in all seriousness, I'm TO'd that this is ALL that…

Recently got a Fitbit Flex from Julie and it has been alarming as to how sedentary my lifestyle had become. Was barely doing 1500 steps most of which came from walking to and from the library. Anyhow, if anyone else has a fitness tracker and wants to do challenges feel free to add me on the fitbit website - [email protected]. Also, just found a great website, www.matchup.io which syncs data from various trackers from different companies so people with different trackers can still do challenges together. The website also has challenges that you can do with other people on the internet - I just signed up for this one - https://matchup.io/group/4746/yellowstone-park-…

OK, I know that he doesn't visit here and most likely won't see this, but I was struck by the fact that he turns 39 today. In a funny way Duggeh started the whole headphone stand business that I was once involved in. He had a pair of Jecklin headphones, and posted that he was worried they'd get scratches by just setting them on his desk. So without any instruction from him I went out to my shop, found some scrap wood, and built my first headphone stand. I messaged him that I had something that I'd like to send him. He gave me his address and I shipped it off to Scotland. Upon arrival I guess that he was pretty surprised and pretty happy. He made a very lengthy …

while it may not be you, i find it hard to think of anyone else who would send me 2 pms on headfi from different accounts saying "this is an interesting pm, interesting to cj that is." while it was funny for a while and i appreciated the humor at my expense, it is no longer cute since it requires me to actually do something to delete a nonsensical pm from my mailbox. unlike headcase, headfi doesnt give me a billion pm's so i have to clean it out every so often. i wish you would stop. do it all you want in the chat, i dont care but if i have to take the time to actually do something about it, then imo, i have something bitch about. take this to be another immature rant…

Well dummy me, could not figure out how to upload them. I couldn't find any type of "upload pics" option. Did I just missed or it is not a general option to upload pics? Thanks

I couldn't find a thread to post this to, so here's a new thread. So UPS failed to deliver a package yesterday, just before the long Easter weekend - so now I won't get it until Tuesday next week. Bastards. I thought I'd sign up for real time tracking. I'm taken to a page to set up to get this, and find a tick box that says "I confirm that I've been given enough time to read and understand the UPS Technology Agreement" So I thought I'd click the download button to have a look at it. 96 pages. Doing a word count, it is 58,887 words long Which is almost exactly twice the length of the longest Shakespeare play (Hamlet)! That has to be the outer edge of ri…
