Happy 24th Matt .

My new Droid rocks the boat. My iTouch feels a bit dated now. Will my iPad, yet to arrive on this New Year's eve day, feel just ordinary as the New Year's dawns tomorrow? Five years hence, will Apple feel like Microsoft, and Microsoft like National Cash Register? Has Apple just introduced us to the new millennium, only to find themselves running to catch up after showing everyone else how to do it?

Can't wait to hear what John Stewart and Colbert have to say about this tonight! It's almost like something the Onion would write but once again, truth is stranger than fiction.

So Karen is running the Chicago Marathon for St. Judes on October 12, 2014. This is the sixth straight year she has run it and she is now older than I was when we met. As parents of a child who had some issues at a young age (but thankfully not anything that required a visit to St. Judes) this is a charity that is very close to our hearts. Dammit, don't you hate when you get to work (after a weekend of not shaving) and realize you missed a huge patch somewhere on your face? Bleh. Monday's suck... and worse yet, am hour was stolen from me this weekend.

I want to convert a fair amount of Euros in a EU bank account to my US banks. This was money earned from work, and EU income tax has already been paid on it. Are there any issues/complications I should be aware of when transfering it back stateside? Any tax issues with the US? I'm going to contact our hospital's financial adviser next week, but thought I'd ask here.

I've always admired this group. The hobby and community got me through some rough times, even when I didn't say I was going through them, but just coming here and laughing my ass off at the shenanigans was enough to brighten up my day. It's been a while since I've been around, and life definitely throws some unexpected curve balls. I got married a month ago.
