Not sure if any of you follow weather events for fun, but I bet Hurricane Irene will impact many of you East Coasters. If you are interested in following the event unfold, this link is about as good as it gets: http://www.talkweath...carolina-coast/ Looks like it will grind against the East Coast from N. Carolina to MasNoNoNoNoNoNosetts. It definitely has the potential to cause some serious damage. If you live in NYC, mass transit is expected to completely shut down for possible evacuations. If any of you are expected to feel the effects, stay safe and prepare now.

5.9 magnitude quake rocks East Coast. I didn't feel a damn thing here in B'town, but others as far as Boston are reporting noticing it. There are a lot of H-Cers near the epicenter. Everyone's headphones still on their stands?

I was going to start this thread a few times, and think of doing so every time I find something I use daily or near daily, and it makes me very very happy each time, like my JH13s and ipod, or Tabasco Sauce. Can be a little nothing, like Tabasco Sauce or something big that you don't regret spending the money on, even if it made you wince to do so at first. Anyway, I've lately come across some things that may even have been around for awhile, but I can't believe how happy they make me every time I use them. Here are a few of my new favorite things: Moisture wicking clothing! Why didn't anyone tell me about this stuff before? I'd been working out in any old cott…

NY Times Party offices in the capital and camp for youth members of the governing Labour Party targeted. Initial suspicions of islamic terrorism seems rather silly now.

Happy birthday youngster! I guess it is a good sign that I never assumed you were so young. Have a safe and sane and age appropriate birthday celebration. In other words, I hope you can find a fake ID or get an RA to buy you some booze! Cheers

Is anyone else around here watching the tour? I'm very excited to see how today's stage turns out. It is an absolute epic... I'm currently working up the self control to turn off the live reports so that I can watch it without knowing what happens this evening but I doubt I'll be successful....

A friend and myself are considering spending next summer in Berkeley, Ca working on mcat prep. The classes are held on the Berkeley campus for 12 weeks starting around may 20th. Could the locals or Cali residents offer any insights on the area, transportation ease, cost of living including rent and food etc? We have options of irvine, San Diego and a couple of other cities but berkeley seems to have the best teachers so I'm looking at that first. The cost of attendance is the same for all locations so I'd like to stick to Berkeley unless the cost of living is absurdly less in other cities. Gross estimates for 3 months would be very helpful in helping us plan how much to s…

I see in the forum rules that there are no "profane" posts allowed, but then I saw elsewhere where one or more members said "Fuck this, or fuck that - I'll do as I goddamn well please", words to that effect. So would that be a violation of the rules? If this was a legitimate site then it probably would be a violation, yes? The only reason I ask is because a friend of mine, Bob Fletcher, had his company taken over by the CIA so it was no longer legitimate and there was a lot of profanity.

I am incredibly sad to say that the MOTDOTU passed on this Wednesday, even though I am certain it was to a better place. After fighting to stay with us for the last four months, and really the last five years, my mother died peacefully with her husband, all six children, her beloved sister and brother in law, ten grandchildren, two daughters in law, and one niece by her side. Remarkably, I had just returned from Germany, a brother had just gotten back from Hawaii, my Minnesota sister was flying in by chance that day, my globe-trotting CEO brother was a day from leaving for NYC, and my LA brother was able to fly up on short notice when our mother was taken to the ER Tuesda…

Do any of you have any recommendations for small business software. I've been looking at Quicken, Quickbooks, Turbotax etc. I've never used any of them and don't know exactly what I need. They need to be reasonably easy to use and learn as ell as not being excessively expensive. Life is a big hectic mess right now and I need something to simplify at least some of it.

As of a couple of weeks ago I'm now officially in business with a license and everything I've been looking into ways of diversifying, and with that in mind I've been delving into other areas and letting a bit of my artistic (autistic?) side out. I bought a nice little engraver to go along with all my Proxxon mini tools. I'm also thinking of getting into knives and such. I don't know if that makes any sense but it's me thinking aloud. I'm not really a knife type but doing wood grips is fun. I don't actually know anyone into knives so I don't know what most look for in one. Any of you guys into knives? If so, what is it you look for. As to the engraving, I've had quite …

Sorry I am not in Germany any longer to toast you with a German beer, but a Pilsner is as close as I can get. Happy cycling, wine drinking, music listening and rattlesnake hunting to you Greg! Prost!
