So a friend of mine is trying to track down a painter. I tried doing an image search, but all I'm getting is a bunch of "oil painting with glare" type images, for obvious reasons. Anyone know how to get rid of the glare? Or perhaps they just know who the painter is.

I'm very sad to report that our very own Carl Stephen "ironbut" Koto passed away on July 2, presumably from the lung cancer he informed us about in late May. Several of us have been concerned about his absence and both Ric and I (and maybe others) tried calling him to no avail, eventually receiving notice that the line was no longer in service. I tried searching for information but did not find anything until this morning I finally found a death notice for Carl Koto in Eugene, Oregon at age 66, and that must be him. 😢 Steve was a great and gentle guy and a fantastic Head-caser. His reel to reel rig will be remembered as one of the all-time best headphone experiences …

I'm planning on receiving a package from overseas. I've received packages from Europe in the past, and never been charged anything (UPS/EMS just drops it off). But I want to be certain as it's a high dollar item and will be insured (thus having its real value on the package). I thought I'd ask here before I called US Customs. Pretty sure this doesn't mean anything but we have no state sales tax. Thanks guys.

Are there any "tapers" around here? I played in bands for years, also have been in to recording/production of other bands over the years. But still, I find nothing to be nearly as fun as stealthing in to some bar/club otherwise "venue" ... with permission or not (Noah and the Whale's tour manager recently kicked me out of a show) and taping/recording the performance with the only requirement to make it sound like it sounded when I heard it/saw/listened to it. And then publishing it. I write as a trade; I also have made original music as a trade and so intellectual property shit is not an issue; I buy. A hacker tag from my early 80's BBS days comes to mind her…

So, bored at work, I stumbled across head-case from another link.
