Rally to Restore Sanity Keep Fear Alive Is anyone going to this rally next weekend? I think I'm going to be taking a trip to DC to catch this/hang out/whatever. I'm THINKING about bringing the kids too, we shall see. I know there are some DC area people around, and it starts in EXACTLY 7 days (to the minute.) Also, if someone wants to offer a couch/bed/tub for me + buddy + who knows, maybe kids? Heh... LMK. **BRENT**

With the winter just around the corner, I've been pondering about snow/winter tires for my car. While I never had real issues driving in snow/winter, with my daughter around now, I'm wondering if it's a worthwhile investment to get snow/winter tires. So if anyone here can share their experience with them, I greatly appreciate it.

this past year, one of the better parts of my driving schedule has been listening to wait wait dont tell me. a very well written (or performed, if it isnt rehearsed) news quiz/slight comedy npr show. part of the allure has been the voice of peter sagal and his presentation and after a few months i had a fairly decent picture of what he might look like in my head. a few minutes ago i randomly happened upon the npr website and having never seen a picture of him, i searched for him. he doesnt look like anything i had pictured =/ not that that changes my desire to listen to the show but it does put me off a tad. i want to say i feel cheated but it is just something silly. …

One of those email things. I found this one quite interesting and fun and thus have bookmarked it for occasional reference. Only thing that has me scratching my head is why it shows 2004 following 2010. Obviously a little problem there, but otherwise pretty slick. http://home.tiscali.nl/annejan/swf/timeline.swf Seconds Minutes Hours Day of week Day Month Year

  19. This is Zachary's Amp. And this is Zachary (with his dad Kristopher). Zachary was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) on March 23, 2007. This is a relatively rare form of cancer, affecting around 4000 Americans each year. Zachary and his family have been battling this disease for almost 4 years and it has taken a physical, mental and financial toll on the family. So how do I fit into this equation? I've known Zach's dad for something like 8 to 10 years, he works for one of my former company's biggest clients and while working together on a few projects we discovered that we shared a lot of common interests. We ended up being members …

This year my wife, Karen, will be running the Chicago marathon as a St. Jude hero again. As the flagship of the Children's Hospital Network, St. Jude is a special charity. Unlike last year however, Karen made a deal with her Facebook friends that if they met a certain monetary goal, she would run the race in a Wonder Woman costume (I was actually pushing for a bikini clad Princess Leia, since I am a man of that age). As can be seen below, they did step up. Additional, race-day photos will be forthcoming. If you would like to donate you can do it HERE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STRETCH! We really have to get you to start drinking in the morning, because you are all out of sync down there and don't hang around like you used to. Hope you have a great birthday Stetch, and save your birthday Rand for a meetup stateside one of these days! Cheers!

My water heater is about 15 years old, so I've been thinking about getting a new one sometime soon before it blows up on me. With the Federal discount of 30% up to $1500 for all things green set to expire at the end of 2010, I'm deciding if I should go for a tankless or hybrid water heater before the end of the year. My current model is a gas 15 gallon one. It works mostly fine, but at the end of a long shower, it can run out. The hybrids look great, but really expensive, and there aren't too many gas models. I'd rather not have to retrofit an electric, since I have an old house, unless it's easier/cheaper than I think. My wife is a bit of a tree hugger, so she's…

In my line of work sometimes I got to brush shoulder with them. Most of them are quite nice. Some that I could remember (and no, I'm not those guy that stands outside a glitzy club waiting for them) : - Paris Hilton : contrary to popular beliefs, she has a sweet sweet personality. Readily to take all the requests for picture or autograph. A bit too welcoming IMHO. - Jamie Foxx : nice guy too - Leo Caprio : very reserve bloke. Never seen him entertaining requests for pictures or autograph. Though the way he turn the request down was very polite. - Eva Longoria : Usually will entertain peoples request for pic but can be quite rude sometimes. Gorgeous in real life as …
