June is gay pride month. I remember my first time marching in a gay pride parade. It was 1984 and I was 23 years old. It was in Anchorage, Alaska. I had just recently come out to my family, and I was finally ready to overcome my embarrassment and stand with my friends in a public setting. It was absolutely a milestone for me after years of shame. During our march a protest group from the Anchorage Babtist Temple decided that they could not let a group of LGBTQ people come across as normal, and allow us a peaceful march. I was personally spit on and damned to hell by a very Motherly looking woman in her 40s. A few people were actually slapped and pun…

http://www.vajoe.com/candidate_calculator.html non-Americans feel free to play as well. My #1 was Mike Gravel, but I honestly have no idea who he is. Other close candidates were Joe Biden and Obama. I admit I am a presidential election junkie. Its like the World Cup for me.

It seems like a rave party in Moscow left some rave goers partially blinded. It seems like someone that operated the lasers was powerful enough to be seen in the night sky aimed it down at the ravers Party laser 'blinds' Russian ravers - tech - 14 July 2008 - New Scientist Tech

I'll go first: Pamprin is probably the greatest product since Kotex, far better than Midol!! And the greatest function and feature on the internet is the "search" function; find whatever you are looking for without bothering anyone!!

I went out to the mailbox today, and heard a little rustling in the bushes next to the house. Knew immediately, and visually verified it was Momma Rabbit, who is a regular in the hood. I see her out grazing every night, and it makes for a country feel in the middle of Dallas... along with the squirrels, hawks (that love squirrels and rabbits), and the occasional bobcat, who loves anything furry, including household pets. Well, I step into the bushes trying to get Momma to move along, but, I think the babies were close by, and, perhaps her burrow (or one of) is next to my house - haven't yet checked. So, Raoul, http://home.swbell.net/pabbi/Raoul1c.jpg, goes out late …

I don't know if he's a member here, or whether anyone else has shared this, but I really like the "New Posts" search he's created that is designed to search just for gear that is for sale. It pulls in all Buy/Sell/Trade subforums. Thought it might be useful for others as well. Thread: How to exclude forums from "New Posts" - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio Link referred to above: Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio ^ This is the link toward the bottom of his opening post. As he mentions, it would need to be updated periodically to exclude any new non-FS forums that may be added from time to time. I've added it…

Alex Chilton died yesterday at age 59 from an apparent heart attack. That's fucked up. I've been meaning to post this sad news ever since my wife called to tell me she heard it on the radio while she was driving to work. Great and influential musician. Also been meaning to play some Big Star and shit but I have been too busy to do anything fun today. Will have to toast him later, but for now here are the lyrics to The Replacements' Alex Chilton: If he was from Venus, would he feed us with a spoon? If he was from Mars, wouldn't that be cool? Standing right on campus, would he stamp us in a file? Hangin' down in Memphis all the while. Children by the million s…

Ok, let's suppose that you're walking to the local bar/corner store/whatever and you have to cut through a small public park to get there. While walking through the park, you see some guy on the ground being molested by a group of attractive females. What do you do? Whip out your fancy cellphone and take pictures/movies of it? Offer to take the guy's place? Whip out your willy and masturbate? What do you do??!!

I can't take credit for this but cracked up when I read it. enjoy ..dB If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!! When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning Uphill... barefoot... BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice th…
