Superman! I just saw it and though it was something like 154 minutes I was pleasantly suprised. I thought it was great! Kevin Spacey and Brandon Routh both fit the parts perfectly imo. Did anyone else see it?

Has anyone ever had to read this pile of shit? I had to write 10 "journal entries" on it today, it took me 4 hours just because the thing is so damn boring. I can't read more than 15 pages at once without having to stop. I want to jump in front of a moving truck after reading it. I asked my mom, who loves to read, if she had read it, and all she could say was "I hate that fucking book". And I found a 10 line runon sentence. Aren't there more important things to teach in school?

We're all pretty happy around here today that my friend and former colleague Getty photographer Joe Raedle, AFP photographer Roberto Schmidt, and AFP reporter Dave Clark were released unharmed today after being captured by Libyan forces on Friday. Considering what a nasty place Libya has turned out to be (50-some attacks on journalists and a couple of fatalities in just a couple of weeks) and the circumstances of of Joe's going missing, which weren't auspicious, we were sweating it big time. I always find this day sad, but this year is more poignant to me due to the 30th anniversary attention, etc. Growing up, I lived on the 22nd floor of the building next door to the Dakota. I drove down to my Granddad's house this weekend to attend his 90th Birthday party. It was the very first Birthday party he's ever had in all of his 90 years. About 80 friends and relatives drove down to share the very special day with him. This was the second time I've ever seen him tear up. The first was when my Grandmother passed away. He was absolutely shocked when he walked into the Church rec. rm. and saw how many people showed up. It was the best day I've had in a long time.
