Do you guys remember that desktop thing that seemed to abound in the 80s that was filled with blue and clear liquid and tilted back and forth and when it did the blue liquid separated from the clear and created a "wave" effect? Well, what the hell was the blue liquid? I ask because my son just broke a water filled thing that had the same liquid combination, and the contents have a very strong smell. Almost like industrial strength bathroom cleaner, but without ammonia. Any assistance is appreciated.

This really confuses me. When inane posts (perceived differently by any given reader) are cleaned up and mods step in to control the quality of posts, or kick out idiots (again, alledged differently by each reader) we are called the Nazi Police, or are blamed for "over-moderation". This morning I was watching "Wright Brothers: First in Flight", an interesting, historical TV show. I highly recommend it if you are at all interested in flight and/or history. After their first successful flight, they walked 4 miles to telegraph the news back to Dayton, OH. I wondered why they walked. It was 1903 so I can believe that they didn't have an automobile and there probably wasn't a suitable road for one on Kitty Hawk. But why didn't they have horses or a wagon? Then I remembered that they were bicycle builders. So my question of the day is "Why didn't the Wright brothers ride bicycles to the telegraph office?

So it's time. My aging body along with living in the smartphone world means it's time to enter bi/tri-focal/multi-focus-land. Less irritated with a new milestone of aging (that would be the recent asymmetrical stage of balding), than giving up full-range scanning, tilting/lying down head without regard of planes, losing lens areas of usability, focal points being worse than single vision for far and no glasses for near, etc. But maybe my fears are unfounded or exaggerated? Or if founded worth it? Or resistance is futile? I think it's time to retire my crappy digital watch, so after some light research it seems an Omega should be a decent middle ground watch for the mean time. But I still don't know much about its movement, and I don't really want to start poking around on watch forums Is it possible to get an Omega (basic stainless steel) for around $1300 new, preferably from an AD? How frequently will they need to be serviced? How durable is the watch face? I should add, that I prefer a conservative look, one that will go well with slacks/shirt and tie, scrubs, jeans, etc. Any other recommendations or advice about these watches or any others in my price range? With Abi here, there really isn't much we wanted.... except this: It started out as an April Fool's Day joke on ThinkGeek. So many people wanted it to be real that they went ahead with the project. Where do you guys get your packing stuff? I don't have any from stuff I've gotten, which is what I normally use, and the post office is way too expensive for the tiny amount of stuff you get.

So I picked up a Pre last Friday and I've been using it pretty heavily since then. The screen is very nice, on par with the iPhone's I'd say (the iphones being a glass touchscreen does get the edge in scratch resistance). The interface is really intuitive and done very well. The little "gesture" area below the screen fits in with the overall interface quite well and it works flawlessly. It's also hard to overstate how nice it is to finally have true multi-tasking on a smartphone. I often find myself having the Pandora app streaming in the background while texting or sending e-mails.
