Just stumbled across the German Maestro headphone brand while browsing another forum looking for a really good pair of closed back headphones for listening at work. Has anyone tried the German Maestro GMP 450 or GMP 8.35D? They're supposed to be really comfortable. Any comments on their sound compared with something like the Beyerdynamic DT770?

After picking up the superb thinksound On1 monitor on ear headphones recently, I emailed thinksound to mention my general appreciation of the sound quality of these mighty cans. Apparently this company has had a shitload of buzz on Head-Fi for the past month or two now so I am just wondering--are these headphones really good or just BS?

There was a thread on Headfi which had several folks complaining about the screws securing the earcup assembly to the headband coming loose. Seems some disassembly will be required should the need to address those screws arise. Any recablers out there have pics showing the disassembly process? Shoot, I'm no DIY'er but I couldn't get the stupid pads off. Is there some magic trick to getting those babies off without damaging them??

As most of you know, the new Stax Lambdas suck compared to the older models. This "fact" has puzzled me for quite a while since the same drivers mounted in either the SR-Sigma or the 4070 housings just sing. In the case of the Sigmas, the Sigma 404 out paces the other two Sigma models in every area I can think of by a large margin. To make a long story short, I picked up an old, beaten up SR-404 in Japan to test out some theories. What are your favorite cans for classical? For me, the HD650 still reigns supreme. I admit, sometimes I do listen to classical on the HP-2, but it does seem to lack the space and bottom end "oomph" that these ears crave on large orchestral works. I have tried, tried, tried so many times with the HD600, but it just doesn't do it for me. I thought the Dynahi might officially "wake them up" for me, but they are just too dry and boring. If the HD600 is a waxy hershey's kiss, the HD650 is a giant gob of dark godiva.

Thanks to the Craigslist ad Collin posted I got a super deal on a pair of HE60's that I couldn't pass up. Met up with the guy locally and the transaction went super smooth. It was interesting, I asked him why he wanted to sell them, and he said that he has a pair of Stax Lambdas (didn't ask what model) and that his older brother whom he got this HE60 from actually owns 3 more. So he had 4 HE60s at one point! When he said this I immediately wondered how many HE60s were made in the first place. Poor sap said he never heard the HE60 from any other amp other than the HEV70. I was hoping somebody could help me out here. Currently I use Phillips SHE9503/10 in-ear earphones. They get the job done, and I felt as though I got a bargain with them. Im definitely happy with those. However my listening experience has lessened of late. I find I take too long putting the buds in my ears, and a lot of times when turn my head the wires would catch on my jacket button, making me start the process of fitting the buds back in my ears. And sometimes I feel them sliding out so I have to constantly adjust. All the while my song is being played and im not listening to it properly. So I've had these headphones for a bit and have used them with my laptop for a while, and I notice that in quiet songs especially there'll be crackles and static noises far too often for me to like. I use these while connected to my phone, however, and I have no static issues at all. My previous headphones attached to the laptop didn't have any issues either. Do I just have a defective pair of headphones? And if so, can I do anything about it? (They're refurbished so idk if that matters or not)Rufus MapQuest UpToDate

My Criteria for at work headphones: - under $200 - don't want my boss to think i dont need a raise - not showy - huge cans make it look like I'm not working - extra amp not feasible - might "walk off" - have to work with a dell 610 laptop - like to have some bass - open cans will bother my neighbors thank you experts!

Was wondering if anyone had experience with either? I'm getting my rs1's recabled with silver dragon. I had this cable on senns way back when and liked them alot. Was wondering if anyone had experience with a setup like this. Going to be using them with my extreme platinum, and microdac. Mostly was motivated to do this since i like how my silver cabled hf1's sounded, and i know this cable is probably alot nicer then the headphile one (or atleast similar). I tend to like how my rs1's sound alot more recently, and thought it would be a step in a better direction (and fun atleast).
