So I am in the market for some closed headphones. I have heard grado's and like them, have heard AKG'S and like them. Read a few forum posts on HF and ran across the AKG 270P's. Since I have a pair of Sextett's and I like them, I thought maybe the 270P's might be a good fit. However, I trust the opinions on this forum a lot more than the stuff I read over at that "other" forum. So has anyone heard the AKG K270 Playback's? Anyone own a pair? I listen to a lot of different types of music, but I would use my closed cans for rock, hip-hop, and the occasional jazz session. Any opinions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Can someone give me an idea on what a fair price to ask for SR 007 MK2 Serial SZ3. Sadly my hearing just doesn't do justice to them anymore so want to sell. They are still in mint condition with little use probably 200 hours and with carrying case and documentation. They are about 4-6 years old and have been stored in their box when not in use. I am the second owner and i always have used them on KG's amps. Thanks Guys.

I want a headphone to use on my exercise bike. The bike is quite noisy, so I need noise isolation. I understand from some browsing that the In Ear Monitors are nice for noise isolation, value, and sound quality. I am looking at the etymotic ER-4P, and the Shure E4c, or something in that price range (about $300 list, $175 online price) I like to listen to a variety of music, including rock, bluegrass, jazz and classical. Thanks for any advice.

hiya fellas. ive had my 595s for a while now and they've had some issues. at one point i lost nearly all sound from them, discovered my ground was disconnected and was able to fix that. the only lingering problem is a rattle coming from within the right driver. ive taken the right cup apart and found no hair in the driver, tried blowing gently on it to try and pop out a potential crease in the diaphram, and no luck. really a bummer at this point, anyone got an idea? edit: it should be noted that the rattle is only present during really low bass notes, and this is all the more reason id like them fixed.. i listen to a lot of Dubstep.

HEDD-ADAM ATM we are beyond thrilled to announce HEDDphone® - the first full-range headphone design based on HEDD / ADAM founder and speaker veteran Klaus Heinz’ world-known Air Motion Transformer driver!! The Air Motion Transformer (AMT) is an electrodynamic transducer that allows to move air significantly faster than common voice coil, magnetostatic (planar) or electrostatic systems. Their traditional piston-like movement is overcome by a folded diaphragm that squeezes out air four times faster: A breakthrough for capturing more details in any audio recording. In order to reproduce the complete audible frequency band (and beyond), HEDDphone® introduces VVT® techno…

A comment in the HD800 thread got me thinking about warranties. . . Excluding earpad replacement how long do the headphones that currently sell for $500+ actually last without needing repair and how easy is it to get these fixed by the manufacturers once they do break ? The warranty policies I could spot with a brief search were Koss Sennheiser AKG that and to contact the dealer first were all I could find from the AKG website about warranty duration. Audio Technica bought within europe = 2 years warranty bought within US/Canada = 1 years warranty .

Just curious. Please no flaming...I'm new. I was wondering if anyone had seen or heard of fake/knockoff Monster Miles Davis Tribute earphones. I did a search and there doesn't appear to be a lot of talk or forum posts about it. Anyone else know? Thanks, J.

Well my pair of gs1000s arrived today. One of my largest complaints with Grados has always been comfort or for me total lack of comfort. I don't think I've ever been able wear Grados before without my ears starting to hurt after an hour. The GS-1000's solve this problem and are the first Grados I've been able to wear for extended periods of time without any discomfort. So for me the comfort is a big plus, I wonder what took them so long but at least they figured it out. Few observations about their sound so far... Soundstage is big for Grados I'm not convinced its that big compared to other headphones though. I think what might be giving people that impression is th…

As much as I like my K1000 setup, I can't lie down with them, so I started looking for "normal" headphones. I really had no specific trait of what to look for, since sonically I was pretty satisfied with the K1000. I basically just bought whatever I felt like, and it's more exciting this way. I bought the W5000s first because I've been curious about the Audio-Technica high-end. Later I bought the HD650s, since I've never had them, and I feel like I should give them a chance because they are one of, if not the, most popular audiophile cans still in production. Since I'm stuck at my parents' house over the winter break, I had the chance to go back and forth and do some care…

Recently I borrowed HD580 (NOS) from my friend. I hook it up to the meager Glite and Pico DAC. The more I listen to it, the more I prefer it to my KGSS/O2 Mk2+Stello. I have to admit that I'm the stat mafia ever since I left dynamic. I have HF2 which is gathering dust now, I sold my K701 but this is something I absolutely can live with albeit not as great as stats...... Does anyone here thinks that these measly HD580 is up to notch with the big boys ? Or my taste in SQ has taken a step backwards? I mean as of now and switching back between the O2, there's not way of differences there. :palm: Edit : I used to borrow HD650 from the same guy. boring. didn't like it. I…

I've owned a lot of different headphones throughout the years, including V-Moda Crossfade LP, Beats Detox, Jays a-Jays Four, Beats Tour, Noontec Zoro HD, Klipsch S4i and so on. I always went by the thought that more expensive is better. And then I bought the MEElectroincs M9P. They have an inline mic, which is nice. Their sound quality is absolutly great, great lows, good mids, great highs. The bass is very accurate, and stays the same even with the volume at maximum. Same thing about the treble. The MEElectroincs M9P looks good ,too. (I get compliments all the time about them) A huge plus about these is that unlike many other in-ear headphones, while wearing thes…

"Stop pretending to be a rap star." Leather & metal closed dynamics. Reasonably attractive looking. They have a kickstarter. Higher amounts get you an actual pair of cans. I know one guy in LA who has a set and claims to love them, but he's much more of a gamer than an audio snob.

Hi, I'm looking for advice on headphones. I use them to listen to mp3's and tube on the laptop and the TV at night and gaming. I have a habit of getting the cables caught up, loosening the wires or bending the jack, meaning I have to replace them from time to time. Because of this I tend to get fairly basic relatively inexpensive sets. I usually buy Panasonic RP-HTF350E-N Monitor Headphones (originally made by Technics) which were really great sound quality for the money but it appears this product is now discontinued and impossible to procure. I used to be able to get them from Amazon for about £15 which was great. I guess I just struck lucky with the sound quali…

Anyone? They're closed, so I am, of course, curious. Stereophile has a review of the MS 400 in the current issue. The red makes it moar bettar. But I, of course, am interested in the moar black PS 500.

Hello, I'm going to build a new system, and I need your experience . Let's begin by saying that currently this is my setup: FLAC -> SB Live! 5.1 -> SONY MDR-V150 which I consider to be real high-end (in fact it comes to an end). Anyway, I just wanted to step-up, and by reading many comments and reviews, I decided this would have been my next setup: FLAC -> ESI Juli@ -> Cambridge Audio 840C -> AMB Audio Beta22 Balanced -> APureSound V3 Balanced -> Sennheiser HD-650 Here are some informations: - I like to listen to different genres of music. Particularly I like Classical music (but I listen to Electronica, Rock, Metal and Jazz, too)…

My new PS 1000's just arrived. They sound promising, but seem to need some serious break in time. Anyone out there been through this? If so, how long did it take?
