  1. In other words, apply some astrolube to your butthurt and either move on to a more civilized forum (in your opinion) or deal with the tone and content of this place. We are very clear that we are here for ourselves and not to pander to every audiofool on the Web. EDIT: I realized after the fact that I inadvertently proved Dusty's point about multiple responses...ha. Back on topic, I'm sitting here enjoy the fuck out of my SR-OMEGA out of my DIY T2 fed by a DAC with no toobs in it.

  2. Really, all you got out of all of that was the tone, and not the content? Learn to read, man. There have been some plenty legitimate criticisms of your posts amongst as many which, admittedly, said nothing. You need to be able to read past the language and see if there are any legitimate criticisms that pertain to you. Do you not understand the dynamic? There's only one of you, there's more than one of the rest of us. All of us -- all of us that post, that is -- have this disease that says, "I think I can explain it better to this guy than anyone else on here", so you're always -- always -- going to get multiple posts to every one of yours. I'm not going to deny that it can be deemed cyber-bullying, but this isn't high school, you aren't required to attend. If you can't stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen. And to the rest of you complaining about the state of this thread -- fuck you. Quit contributing to this shitstain in an otherwise great thread -- quit being part of the problem.

  4. build it, put it in a super fancy box, and sell it for $37k betcha it sounds better than the high priced spread, at least no stupidly expensive and useless input transformers. its a push pull amp, so it might actually sound a bit different. besides which its winter what the fuck else are you going to do.

  10. We have a choice on whether to go on HC or not, I choose to because there are genuine answers to queries, ( as long as those queries aren't ridiculous ) with NO shilling, I'm also not worried about have posts removed unlike what happened to me on that shit site I don't need to mention. Yes when I first visited HC I did get some unusual posts written about me after I was repeating myself about a certain amp, but that was before I learnt how HC works. To those that don't like how HC is, my advice is stay on that shit site.

  14. Well I wouldn't beat myself up too bad about that. He has made himself a legitimate target. In my mind I have posted Donald Trump's face on this clown, and that lets me rage without remorse. Was responding to your post before the last, and yeah, that guy needs tweezers more than tubes for sure!

  16. Dude, I haven't sunken to your level of retarded language and generally neanderthal behaviour. I said I wouldn't join the bully club. I have no fucking interest in it. I saw it at school, in night clubs with piss heads, I avoid violence and walk away from moronic behaviour. You obviously can't take any examination in your direction. If you remember you slung a public post at me saying the 'fucktard uses tubes to make his 009s sound good' No reason for that attack (with no logic). I PM'd you politely explaining to you that tubes in a decently designed DAC are not designed in as tone controls (as you are trying to say as a fact). Lets see, why do some top DACs use tubes? How many top pre-amplifiers also use tubes as regulated power supply and / or gain stage. I wonder why the T2 and the BHSE uses tubes in the gain stages or part of the gain stage? Are these designs garbage in your eyes? Clearly when I explained this to you in a shorter and more polite manner, you couldn't take it. So you blow off on one. I obviously had to respond. I sent you that review of your DAC, hoping you may see a bright sounding DAC would naturally make the 009s sound bright to you. The 007s are more forgiving IMO, better for your system I would suggest. You didn't like this. So here we are, you swearing in front of your mates for support. Lets kick the fuckers head in guys. Fucking wanker, fucking fascist cunt. Yeah kill him. This forum has some interesting things on it, but I don't join in the bully swearing club and daily character assassinations that seem to surround the positives. It seems to have got worse over the last 12 months. There are too many on here that ruin what could be a great forum of positives about this hobby. Yeah, I get the welcome intro, yes, be passionate, but cyber bullying and ridiculous language over a sound system. It isn't about religion or ISIS, it is about this amp or headphone sounds good, this amp works like that. Sharing DIY skills. Jeeze, WTF? How many times have I seen the word 'retard' on here. I may inform you I have a cousin who had brain damage in a car accident, and he got called a retard at college. I hate that, just like I hate any kind of hate. I won't hate you, I leave and pretend you don't exist, then the loop of hate ends. There, I am done. I put the photo in for some humour as someone said no humour. But I am not feeling funny. To those (many) who post great information on here (you know who you are) chill, I am not talking to you. I am talking to the idiots who troll, attack, cyber bully and swear, generally exhibit irrational and aggressive behaviour and go off topic so much to swear and basically assassinate anyone they see as not in 'the club'. so act like a neanderthal. Since when is that a good behaviour in an audio forum for enthusiasts? And when was it a great thing to be 'proud" of. The opportunity to display aggression and bad language remotely is in my mind cyber bullying. It is something to remove from the modern world, not encourage.

  17. I used the money well, but I also miss my pink driver RS-1s. On the lookout for a new pair always. I actually have a spare set of the pink drivers themselves, so I'm optimistic I'll some day find a "repaired" set with newer shitty drivers I can pry out. Fack.

  18. Took Emily to the airport this morning for her flight to Philadelphia where she starts her nine month government program contract to work with inner city kids helping them to get into college. The program manager was excited to have a Notre Dame graduate on board and so it seems all of the students in her group. The best part so far is that these kids really want to be there and really want to go to college but they lack the resources that other kids have available to them. The challenge for Emily will be to help these under resourced kids make it to the big time. We are hoping for a major win if she is successful in getting one of her students admitted to Notre Dame (biased?). Fingers crossed, asking for HC positive energy to be sent to Philly.

  19. My old MTB... A friend of mine has lent me his cheap dropper seatpost (a Tmars but I don´t know the model) and I´m triying this now that I'm resting. It seems to me that taking technique is a great success as walking down very broken paths... Because you can move your ass around the bike and change your gravity point.

  20. I've been pretty interested in that DAC. $1400 or so to your door if you know how to navigate TaoBao, which I do. Unfortunately, I do not know anything about circuit design or build quality. If it passes the KG gauntlet, I might just grab one.

  29. Looking at this pic, I expect to hear some announcer saying... "Coming this Christmas, a heartwarming tale of a rag tag bike club and the crazy antics that turned them from losers into winners, when their new coach, played by Billy Bob Thornton, teaches them about bike racing, alcohol abuse and life in general." Rated PG13.

  30. Amazing day on the trails. Xavier, two friends, a dad, and a friend's sister. The Garmin watch paused and didn't auto-start so I don't have the distance, but 6-8 miles of single-track at least. Some of the kids were getting tired so I took them to the parking lot via road whike the dad who was sticking with his little girl for miles got to cut loose and chase down the fast kid. One of my favorite mountain bike rides of all time. **BRENT**

  34. Yes, I agree the embargo hurt innocent Cubans, but what's the alternative? Castro didn't leave us a lot of choice. Yes, America wants it's enemies, real or perceived. That's how the military machine stays in motion. It is very sad. War is business. He went far beyond that. Look up the firing squads. He made it clear immediately that he had no intentions of giving up power, or holding elections. Not only did he kill his opposition, but he had many revolution supporters shot as well, because he thought they held too much power. He ripped children from the arms of their parents at will. He stole property and wealth on a whim. He was your average megalomaniac dictator, nothing better. My point is that the mere passing of time should not lesson the actions of a tyrant. Let's just hope that Cubans can have a better future starting now.

  36. I'm not sure how much people know about Castro and the revolution, but for all his promises of free elections and a better life for Cubans, he ended up being worse than Batista. He was a terrorist and a dictator. I put him on par with Idi Amin.

  37. I was referring to audio transformers in the audio path. And i'm sure you know this. I have tested a number of lundahl input transformers, and besides being very sensitive to even the slightest amounts of dc, they have 2nd harmonic greater than the .05% you state, just by themselves. I like transformers in power supplies, and rf isolation. At work, lots and lots of 400mhz,500mhz, 600mhz and 5,10 and 35 ghz where striplines turn into transformers real easily without any ferrite. Take a look at that picture again, the hanging electrolytic and flying resistor at the left side. Is this the kind of quality that MSB produces, if I was a customer and bought something in this price range that looked like that I would be mighty pissed. OH wait someone did it for me and sent me a MSB platinum dac. with lots of hidden cuts and jumps and hanging parts on the bottom sides of the dac modules. I posted the pictures, but i'm too lazy to look for them. At this price range the audio jewelry has to be absolutely perfect inside and out. D'Agostino power amps pass the test, Boulder, not so much. Krell has fallen very far in the last few years. Whats going to happen to levinson and revel now that Samsung owns them is going to be really horrible. I'm clearly not the target customer for msb products, I absolutely have the money to write a check for the pair, but would never do so. Even if I had 100 times as much money as I do now, I would still not buy the msb pair. Nor would I buy the sennheiser Orpheus 2, or the hifiman. On the other hand a 2019 Z06,ZR1, or C8 as my retirement vehicle (complete with tennis balls) is a done deal. Back to numbers, 440 VRMS. is that stator to stator, or stator to ground. seems like stator to stator to me. So 600v peak to peak stator to ground. maybe that is why you don't want it clipping? A number of people I know listen at more than 440 VRMS. Even though they should not. These are the same people who hate srm323 because they clip so easily.

  41. No, I remember even before , the HD600 was considered veiled unless you amped it properly . I don't consider one more veiled than the other .
    1 point
  42. I've always thought that was a terrible description of the HD 650. Even those that used the term "veiled" talk about the great resolution of the 650. Well, which is it? Veiled would tend to describe a sound that blocks certain dynamics, and I've never seen the 650 given negative marks for dynamics. I think the whole thing started when the 650 came out and was more bass oriented than the 600 predecessor. Some idiot described that as veiled, and it stuck. I happen to prefer the less bass oriented 580/600, but the 650 is an excellent pair of headphones that gives up nothing in dynamics as compared to the 580/600.

  43. I asked last week about their desktop enclosure and got a quote. Although the split body seems like a better idea. The dimensions might not be totally correct but the price should still be valid. I requested quotes for no cutouts as well as 6 holes in front and 5 holes in the rear. I asked for quantities up to 100 but there isn't much difference between 50 and 100 so I'll just go up to 50. 45. Everyone has different-shaped pinnae, which mean different resonance peaks. We need to model pinna-related transfer functions with parametrization over anthropological measurements to even attempt to "equalize" frequency response.
