"OK Stretch, here's the plan. You tackle that douche and then I'm going to stab him right through the fucking eyeball." "Not sure that's a great idea Al." "Who's the lawyer here, me or you?"11 points

Utopias sounds damn good out of the GSX and the Sony Z1R headphone and HA-ZH1ES dac/amp was quite a nice and compact setup.2 points

Watching Super Bowl very lucky I turned it on about an hour ago and walked off because Comcast Internet and X1 platform (which allows channels to be changed etc) are down and should come back sometime after the game. I am unable to change channels but I have the right one on and I have my kid tethered to my work phone. So we are in business.2 points

I kind of like "Atomic Floyd." Sounds like a character from a 2000AD comic. He could be a member of the Strontium Dogs.1 point

Liked the Sonys too. And the Prismsound Callia DAC/amp/pre. Relieved to find the Utopias do not fit me well at all. Stupidest new names award to Audio Pravda and Atomic Floyd.1 point

I accidentally spent the vast majority of my time at the meet in the Audio Precision room. Got some juicy measurements because I walked in with my vintage headphones as they were trying to measure various flagships. The measurement pdf they gave me for the ECR500 was the wrong one with messed up data, so I emailed them and they said their test gear was already being shipped back to Oregon so they'll send me the right pdf in a week, and then I'll post the full set here. Will post listening impressions later.1 point

The new sony headphone and dedicated amp/dac was a big win for me. Didn't like any of the Empire Ears CIEMs at all wanted to like the ZMF new headphone but in the meet setting just ok not worthy of laying down the cash for one until I hear more.1 point

Finally finished casing my Blue Hawaii today. Running on my "universal" PSU that also powers my HV Carbon. 400VDC and 18VDC rails, 20mA plate current. The heatsinks warm up to about 42C (108F) and stabilize, about 22C (40F) rise from ambient temperature. The chassis is a Breeze Audio 3608A, one of 5 chassis I bought from Breeze Audio at TaoBao. I requested that the front and rear panels be left plane, un-drilled. Works quite well.1 point

Despite Brent's biscuit, I am safely home, and I found a hairball, but no more vomit, so all is well in Chez Chalk. I even got some sleep in the train.1 point

I finally finished this one today after about... 4 years or so... Let's just say that I hate anything with umbilical cables... Besides the madness of using 4 mains transformers and the super short filament winding's for the CCS tubes this was easy enough. Running at +/-400V off a BHSE power supply with the dropper resistor and zeners to feed the front end. Only main difference is the 12VDC supply used to heat the front end tubes so the board was cut up pretty bad. Next one will use the Megatron V2 pcb's in about 3 years or so...1 point
