  1. I got my new adjustable struts installed. Was way more work than expected (was supposed to be drop in but actually required drilling) and the mechanic was super cool and let me help and undercharged me for his time. I look forward to figuring these out on the autocross course.

  5. Red beans and rice using my new instant pot. Threw a little smoked paprika in it to replace the flavor bacon and ham hocks would provide. Turned out pretty good, and was super quick compared to normal beans and rice.

  8. cracker barrel is pretend country food available everywhere. It's amazing what they can make with chicken tenderloins. If you can't get southern cooking where you live, cracker barrel can scratch an itch. Bojangles is just fast food, but they generally hire old women who know how to make biscuits.

  9. Really been enjoying Zelda Breath of the Wild on my Switch. I'm really liking using the Joy-cons separately in each hand.

  14. A strangely late review of the Oppo BDP-105D: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/oppo-bdp-105d-audiophile-blu-ray-disc-player/ They probably should have reviewed it before it went out of production.

  17. Thundercat - Drunk I was expecting a lot more from a "genius" behind the success of Kendrick Lamar. I can't help experiencing that sort of "heard it all before" feeling in a Doobie Brothers-Stevie Wonder kind of way.

  18. This. Steve was correct as well, it is apples to oranges. Cracker Barrel can't compare to Bojangles' biscuits. **BRENT**

  19. I don't think the two are really comparable. Bojangles is fast food, chicken and biscuits. Cracker Barrel is not fast food, and has a much more diverse menu of country style food. Apples to Oranges IMO.

  20. Given the Formula One race carnage back in the day with absolutely no driver safety, the fact that John Surtees lived to a ripe old age is astonishing. And bikes too! RIP John Surtees.

  28. It's going into a Parasound D/AC 1600. It's still a work in progress-- I needed to replace the DAC power supplies because the stock ones were remarkably derpy. Pulling the I/V stage causes the regulator output voltage to go up. I put in some shunt regs and ripped out approximately a million bypass caps that were to far from the load to do anything. I don't like GICs/FDNRs. That's what the Parasound had. The big problem I see is that the op amps don't have sufficient gain at frequencies that we care about (352.8KHz and multiples) to actually work. The PCM1702 specs this fellow, which has just 30dB of gain that rolls off very quickly at 300KHz+. Not only is the impedance driving the shunt op amps going to be sort of high, it will also change with frequency. I like Sallen-Key filters because they can be built around an emitter/source follower. Those are much more dependable. By cascading it with an RC pole, you can build a third order filter with just a current sink and a BJT as active devices, and it seems to work well into the lower MHz without doing anything weird.

  29. Awesome pork rinds. Great burger (gruyere and bacon), with a slice of my buddy's hangar steak Finished with some crazy fried bread pudding with caramel bourbon sauce with ice cream topped with house made toffee. Oh, and a couple drinks to go along with it. Florence City Limits Les Dauphins Cotes Du Rhone 2013 Such a great night. **BRENT**

  33. Wait to you hear them on a better amp. I think that's the amp I first heard them on and I was pretty underwhelmed. Then on the L-2 it was a whole different ball game.

  34. Here is something new that I might make more of... the SMD KGSSHV. This is really my attempt to build a "cheap" electrostatic amp to bring a great amp to the masses. Lofty goal and I have no idea if it will succeed but its worth a shot.
