I got in some time with Ether Stat before the room got loud. First of all, I prefer the 007 to the 009 if that helps understand my preferences. The 007 and ES were actually somewhat similar. I preferred the ES for two reasons. 1. The sound stage width and depth was considerable better on ES. I was somewhat surprised at this. Possibly because I listened before the room got loud I was able to observe this difference more so. Once the room got noisy the cavernous sound stage of the ES seemed to get drowned out. 2. I prefer the mids on ES, especially on the BH that Justin brought. I mostly listen to vocal centric music, jazz and modern folk/Americana. I was hearing voices that were more naturally rendered with lot's of detail. Breathing between notes, chesty guttural notes from deep in the chest. I still love the 007 and it remains my favorite production stat. I'm hoping that it can be improved on with something modern and at a friendly price point.1 point

Story of the (watch) service industry! Really is amazing how bad both the manufacturers and independents can be. Maybe the current sales slump will help -- fewer pieces going out the door to come back for service. But they'll probably also eliminate watchmaker positions to cut costs, so who knows?1 point

It was amazing last night and this morning for breakfast! It's good to have friends that like to bake! Thanks for all the on time, late, and on time on average birthday wishes! Went to a post celebratory dinner at a new restaurant (Riel) and saw Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge" tonight. Now I have to get back to work unfortunately. At least I have some bubbly to keep me company.1 point

Happy Birthday! I guess I am both early and late in this wish, which may qualify as double fail. I'm kind of hoping, given your love of maths, that you'll permit averaging which paints me in a much better light.1 point

RIP Col. Bruce Hampton. In my early days I used to drop by the Twelfth Gate coffee house and groove on the antics of The Hampton Grease Band. I still have their double lp "Music to Eat". https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/02/arts/music/bruce-hampton-70-jam-scene-patriarch-dies-after-collapsing-on-stage.html1 point

BTW; everybody who gave me shit on my opinion of the Utopias can look forward to a Llama eating their favorite sweater, because I paid for a hex from one of the witches in Macbeth. Note that I didn't give a time table; given enough time, a Llama eating your favorite sweater is a given.1 point
