Took my first vocal lesson.

My parents dropped off fresh peaches, so cobbler it was. Did a horrible job sprinkling cinnamon, didn't matter. It was great.

My HeadAmp GS-X arrived back from a check-up at its fathers shop. All hooked back up for listening with the Mytek as source. The only problem is what new headphones should I buy?

^ what Greg said. The best way to learn about wine is to go out and try it. I know we are in the COVID days, but there is no substitute from wine tasting. In person, at the vineyard or winery is the best. It is worth even trying the cheap stuff to give yourself frame of reference. You honestly will not know what you like a priori, you have to go out and experience it. Price does matter. A lot of the price is directly tied to the production costs. More expensive wines do receive more TLC than cheaper ones, often a lot more. Whether the quality difference is worth paying for is something you can only say with experience. Get out there, try stuff, share tasting notes with us, you HC crew! Cheers!

if they are just making boards from the gerbers, i'm fine with that. But the people taking the gerbers and then re-editing the hell out of them causing all sorts of issues (like taking all the values off the resistors) or making clone boards like the one above that require obsolete parts are just causing people trouble. find the gerber you want and have boards made.

Saw a touching FB post from a friend, using a atmospheric nice song as the soundtrack. Found it as Andrea Marie, song The Truth About The World on the album Low. Another album that she came out with the same year (likely Low written longer ago) is VERY different, and not much like Low. But I listened to Low and liked it.

Tyler, First off, I am a firm believer in "drink what you like". Rather than recommend wines and wineries you should try because "experts say so" I would just explore everything and everywhere, find what you like, then buy shit tons of it to store and share. Do you like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or white varietals? If you don't have a strong preference then just hit up the popular wineries, try their selection of wines then go from there seeking out the same varietals. You could start with Milestii Miici, then Et Cetera and Castel Mimi. Sometimes the restaurant staff can be a great source of leads to small family wineries producing under the radar gems. I hope this helps.

I use Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Ableton and Reaper. These days, almost exclusively Logic. Another excellent DAW is Studio One and of course Cubase/Nuendo. Each one has it's strengths but these days, there aren't many glaring weaknesses in any of these. If you plan to do very much with video, Pro Tools is probably the best. Particularly if you need to collaborate and communicate with other audio and video professionals. Be warned, it is endlessly deep. I took 6 quarters of college classes on Pro Tools (it took 4 to qualify to take the Pro Tools Operator license test, there are 3 other licenses that you can get). But, you can learn what you need day to day in the same amount of time as any DAW. Whatever you choose, stick with it. You want to learn your choice well enough that it becomes muscle memory. Having to stop and search for the right key command is a momentum/inspiration killer.

Did my first gym session since lockdown today. I have lost a shit load of condition in the five months they were closed. Lot of hard work to do for sure in the coming weeks. Of course you have to book in advance using their app, every other machine is off line to keep distances, and you wipe the machine down before and after with a spray bottle and a handful of paper off a roll. And there is a one-way system. But the good news is because the number is limited to 15 at any one time, you no longer have to queue for a machine!

Audition is excellent. If you're already subscribed to the Adobe CC there's probably no reason to learn something new until you have to. You might consider getting iZotope Rx if you want to clean up field recordings. I did like the Footprint 01 when I heard them. They put out a lot of sound for their size. You should give Vintage King a call and see if you can demo a pair.

Made it out to a private track rental last night at Houston Raceway Park. The outfit always does a nice job. Only thing I missed was the catering...no no given the current situation. My son shot a vid of my first pass. I'm in the Jeep Trackhawk running against a Redeye. It was hot and humid...density altitude started at north of 2900ft, but I had a blast all the same. HS

120/-5 is pretty good so far.

Honestly I just use the HD650 something like 95% of the time. It's like mom's chicken noodle soup, or a pair of old fuzzy slippers, headphone comfort food that won't knock your socks off but is just pleasant and relaxing and nice, without doing much of anything wrong. These days, with so much crap going on in my life and outside of it, that's pretty much all I'm looking for most of the time. And the FR is damn near perfect. Other headphones are the Stax L700, which has some faults but is just so damn musical, the Utopia, which sounds great but is a bit fatiguing so I might ditch it, and the SR-007. The latter won't fit my head properly, I more or less have to hold the earcups in place so it gets next to no use, but damn it sounds great when everything works out. If only Stax updated the ergonomics... On the move I use the Westone UM Pro 50, for similar reasons to the HD650, though I do EQ it a bit. But then again I EQ everything. Might get some RAALs at some point, but have concerns over brightness/fatigue.

I'll take a stab at your questions. I haven't built the full size SMT Dynalo, but have built a few of the mini Dynalo's, which are pretty much all SMT. The resistors for the mini are all 0805 with the exception of the 20R, which were 1206. Vishay TNPW 0.1% 25ppm were used for most. I'm not sure on sizes for this version however. Kevin's schematics typically do not show power rail bypassing on them. Follow the board values. These appear to be LEDs and not caps. Kevin normally specs 1.7V red LEDs, such as Liteon LTL-307ELC. I don't have a BOM for the full-size SMT version. This project is still a very valid amp. Some would suggest the current feedback amp (CFA-2 or CFA-3), and I might concur with that opinion. Be sure to use the golden reference power supply (GRLV) as well, as it is very good and makes a difference.
