Gave a big speech at the rehearsal dinner for my sister's wedding last night. Boy, I have nothing but respect for you guys who have to get up in front of crowds all the time and speak. It is hard! Everyone said it went great, and I got a bunch of laughs, but despite all that it is hard not to feel like I could have done a better job. Maybe I'm just being to hard on myself. In any case, glad to have it behind me! Wedding tonight should be a blast.

I checked in with Gene today and he and Becky are staying at home in Sarasota, but they have prepared and have hurricane glass windows, etc. He'll check in after Irma passes. From Facebook, it appears Vicki and Mike are both away from their homes and should be safe. Raffy lives inland so he should be a wet but safe little sherpa.

Just texted Raffy. He is finishing up preparations. Filled him in on Gene and Vicki. He said Baker is in Portugal on vacation.

Vicki just posted that she's staying at work, so not exactly evacuated. But it looks like the storm track is farther west, and she's on the east coast.

Ditto. My pole fitness is normal, as I stayed soft as a wet noodle. Apparently Blonde pole was not what I had assumed.

Bodega Bay Salmon / Fish & Chips

We are up in Daytona so we will make a final decision on what to do on Friday. However, based on what happened during Matthew and the direction the tracks are moving we are likely to stay. Have over 50 gallons of water, a shitload of canned and dry foods, three propane tanks and much alcohol. HC party time.

We should be fine. We're at the mercy of Florida Flick and Flash, so there's the potential for extended inconvenience there. And the creek is as high as I have ever seen it, without storm surge or rain. That's a little troubling since we're about to get a foot of rain. Let's hope that it's the water management district managing as opposed to having a melt down. (The tide in our creek is controlled by a computer in West Palm Beach. They can raise it but not lower it.) But all in all, we're one heck of a lot better off than we could have been. I was monitoring Google Maps in case we had to flee. We are also staying put since it is tracking west. Verizon just sent a message that we have free unlimited voice, text and data for the next two days. Let the streaming begin!

Thanks for posting this Dusty! I took a look and liked it... I've liked Danny Elfman/Boingo but hadn't really ever listened to anything other than Dead Man's Party and Insanity. Damn tight band! I also found and liked this clip of a shorter concert (MTV?).

As for the review, if anybody thinks that I had anything to say about any of it... you have clearly never talked to Bob or followed any of his work. He told me he would write what he wanted and I got zero say in it, which is exactly what I wanted. This wasn't even supposed to be a review, he just asked me if he could borrow a Carbon to give the 007's an equal platform against the dynamic competition. I was happy to oblige, sent him my personal Carbon and also offered him a Pure Bipolar to try out, to create an even more even playing field. Both sets being driven balanced with amps that share the same design ideas. This was back in February or March and it was only after he'd heard that this grew into a kind of review. I knew he liked them as he bought the Pure Bipolar and will probably buy the Carbon as well but I didn't have any idea what he would write. Hell I didn't even know when it was posted, I only heard about it when my inbox lit up. Now normally I would never even entertain the idea of having reviews as pretty much all are garbage, done by people with the integrity of used care salesmen/realtors and are just verbal diarrhea. Just look at the garbage Jude is posting and he's far from the worst. You may disagree with Bob's findings all you want but he sure as shit is more entitled to his opinion that most. He did expose Focal and I know from experience that it isn't easy to hold up an opinion that goes against the "norm", no matter how wrong the "norm" may be. I have fond memories of the death threats I got from some unstable people after I said the HE90's were far from the best. I can also imagine how happy Focal were about all of this...

Fingers crossed for Florida!

So... Last night around 1-2 a.m my next door neighbours got into fight. It was extremely hard, she was screaming and throwing things against the wall. And as I heard later she hit him a lot, especially she slapped him hard over his ears. Then she went to the hall of building, screaming for help... I was naked but I quickly wear things and got out after them. The scene was extremely nerve pushing: she was sitting on the floor and he was trying to make her stand by pulling her. I was about to punch him to senses but she jumped between us. I got him to my house for seperating them and called the police. While I was calling the police, she was begging me for not to but he wanted me to call. Police never showed up btw. After some time I let him go. He is a body builder and she is as petite as one can be but as it appeared she kicked his ass off and smashed half of the house to the ground/walls. She is extremely neurotic. Boy seems a nice fella. I felt sorry for both of them and went to sleep. It became like a diary entry but anyway...

Well cut my legs off and call me "Shorty", If the common bon mot of a picture being worth a thousand words is, in ,fact a truism, then logic would necessitate that the picture would be self-explanatory. But, alas, reality dictates otherwise as is signalled so perfunctorily in that most pictures are captioned, which puts the concept into the ubiquitous category of a general untruth. The clip was in response to your phrase "boy howdy" which emblazoned a distinct caricature of a set of JBL Everest Elite 750NC covered in hayseeds in my over-stimulated mind. I hope this elucidates rather than obfuscates the situation. Either way, enjoy your JBL's.......

Yeah, somehow I missed it -- the last thing I remember is Diabolic Inventions and Seduction... Will have to obtain (Al Di Meola is one of the few acts that has had a blank check for everything he's done across his entire career). I'm alive! Don't worry about me, I'm safe and dry and my dog Suzy is by my side. The rest is all solvable. Made it down to check damage. My RV is in pieces, but that's just stuff. I think my scooter is OK, and my wormdrive saw is OK. I'll need both as the destruction was massive. Many people far worse off than I. And lots of work ahead. I've had several offers from the best people on Earth (Head-Casers), to put me up and I love you guys! I'll take some time to decide my next move, but have options. I should qualify for a FEMA trailer, and may do that. I might decide that Texas doesn't want me around anymore, and try a new start. Too soon to know yet. Either way, my spirit is intact. A true Alaskan can never be beaten by Texas! What is most important to me are my Mom and my Suzy, so things are good. Suzy is a bit freaked but otherwise fine. As long as I have them and my HC family, I can make it through anything. I'm learning to use my cell phone for Head-Case, so bare with me.
