  1. Fair enough. I am not really familiar with those amps so that is why I asked.

    ^^ x2
  3. ^^THIS.^^ If you haven't cut a hole in the plastic "grill" I have a pretty good guess about what that may be. Do you think this might be because it is rolling off the high end?
  4. That lens has some nice IS as those pictures are very clear and sharp for handheld pictures. That is not something that can be effectively increased later. And just for the record, I was not referring to testicles.
  5. Very nice Mike. Are those handheld?
  6. The man knows of what he speaks.
  7. A very happy birthday to you sir. :jbl:
  8. I would also recommend the Blue Jeans Cables. I use their standard LC-1 in 35 ft length and it has worked fine for almost three years now. Just call them up if you need connectors not on their order page.
  9. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see the EF5 as being anything special. That being said, I thought the HE-5 sounded very good out of both the Zana and BA back in November. But it was at a meet and I did not even attempt any serious listening.
  10. I would suggest you use the newest version of dbpoweramp for ripping and/or transcoding. If you have a multicore machine it will use the multiple cores for a nice speed increase. It also uses accuraterip so it will give you a bitperfect copy as quickly as possible. The newest version also works great for album art and metadata. You have a choice of sources and if you do not like the album art from those sources it is now very easy to add in any art work you want at the time of ripping. It is not free however, but well worth the cost, especially when you are starting a big project. There is no real advantage to using itunes with squeezecenter but there is no real disadvantage if you have nothing against using ALAC (apple lossless). With any of the current firmware revisions on the squeezbox family there is no longer any advantage to using FLAC over ALAC. If you already use itunes at all, then there is an advantage if you want one consolidated library.
  11. Unless you are getting a 10 year warranty I do not think warranty considerations are really significant, even for the "no longer" GM divisions. Also in that case the vibe may be a better bet as significant parts should not be a problem as long as Toyota is still around.
  12. I have had no problems using them on NAS servers as they are essentially "internal" server drives.
  13. Brent Doucheburger is a loser and has been ever since he was announcing high school football in Chicago.

First confirmed vendor is Woo Audio. Jack seems pretty psyched for it as he wanted a whole room.
  15. I compared the then current Nikon and Canon back in 2005 and the Canon consistently focused faster, had less shutter lag, and was simply easier to shoot with. My camera was a D200 and the Canon was a comparable model but I cannot remember which actual model it was, so if my memory is faulty it could at least partially due to the camera being better. Both were (are?) very good lenses but the Canon seemed better to me. Regardless, my main need is the flattest field macro I can obtain for reasonable $ and a versatile flash system, so I'm sticking with Nikon.
  16. Yeah they are pretty much the coolest lizard still here
  17. The base model is supposed to be at Sweetwater next week so I guess we will know by then.
  18. HERE you go.
  19. I changed my mind, I now prefer these to chameleons:
  20. Very nice. I just love the design aesthetic of the EC amps, not to mention Craig's attention to detail on both the circuit and chassis design. Congrats on a very nice amp Zippy.
  21. Didn't sombody in one of those hot and muggy states recently buy a KGSS?
  22. As good as that sounds, I have way too much invested in Nikon glass. Canon does kick their ass though on the fast telephoto's, at least as of a couple of years ago. I haven't bought any newish lenses for a while, too much new audio gear to buy.
  23. ^^^^That is a kick ass lens. Almost makes me want to switch from Nikon to Canon.
