It's not needed if you sell and rebuy at a sufficient rate.

  • My Mjölnir Audio BHSE has landed and first impression: Audio heaven! Thank you Birgir.

  • I figured I had to post when this one was up and running again.  Sounds awesome...

So how many watts will the BHSE pull from the wall? ;)

If Chuck Norris were an amp, Chuck Norris would be a BHSE!!

Wow. The phrase "The Few. The Proud" comes to mind.

BTW, is that preamp output I see on the back, and if so, how does it sound? (poor audiofool trying to justify purchase in 'stat/speaker system)

Something like 150-200w. In case you are wondering... this is a serious headphone amp.

So about 2x ~ 2.5x as good (as a room heater) as my KGSS. :o

meh. I'd guess 80W-90W (I don't know what the CCS are set at in this version, hence the range)

If I ever design an amp I'm going to put a giant heat sink with a resistor that takes 1000w from the wall. More power is always better :)

:o Great sound and keeps your coffee steamy. 3rd degree burns come to mind.

I think MOAR POWAH should become a brand name.

don't forget the filaments, power supply regulation, and transformer inefficiency

my guess still stands :)

wat? the standard BH is 10W bias per tube

10W CCS x4 = 40W

10W EL34 plate x4 = 40W

1.6A x 6.3V x 4 = 40W

voltage regulation = +15%

transformer efficiency = +15%

total = 166W

then add in the -300V regulators, a couple watts for the +/-15V, and its easily 175W

:palm: 80W-90W per channel, obviously :palm:
