$160 is pretty nice. I myself like the look of the VTI BL404 rack, but I hear people tell me that it's not a very good one. =T

They're plastic, bur far from flimsy IMO. I'm assuming you mean the tweeter plate. The binding post plate is very stout.

It's goint to allow me to run the K1000 off of the speaker taps of the Beta22 (or Consonance integrated), and just unplug it to use the front mounted XLR jacks for other headphones. And it looks teh shit!
