Nate, how does that electric handle the heavier, wet snow.  We usually have a plow service for our driveway, and I handle the remaining with a shovel.  I was thinking about an electric blower, but have read they don't do the heavy wet snow as well....

A little more than I need so far but amazingly affordable.

I'll do my best to get some pictures of the neighbor but I've only seen her a couple of times when she's not in the car with hubby.

Honestly, I've abused the heck out of my Toro.  I've made it clear just about everything, from heavy wet snow to ice crusted junk.  It has its limits, don't get me wrong, but for the price it is impossibly good.  I think the most insane thing I've done with it is clear 3 or 4 storms worth of snow off the deck (some 30").  It took a while, and I had to attack it in layers, but was still way easier than actually shoveling. 

And it's currently snowing outside, so odds are good that I'll start tomorrow by using some variety of snow removal devices.

Cut that shit out.  I've had quite enough of that at home.

Meanwhile in the UK we had the warmest February in history. Peaked up at 22C (72F) with brilliant sunshine for the best part of a week. It has cooled off somewhat since then, but any snow has been confined to the far North and Scotland.

It has really screwed with nature. About ten days ago, out walking, I saw butterflies, and birds with nesting material in their beaks. A good 6-8 weeks earlier than they should be.

We just had a hell of a storm. Still have electricity, unlike a lot of people in the area.

Snow: We are absolutely Fucked.

Well, things have gone absolutely pear shaped here in scenic western MA.  I was due to have my chimney serviced on the 4th.  That's in two days.  I just called and cancelled that appointment.  I can't use my wood stove until it IS serviced, so once again my house Castle Ballfreeze.*  Worse still, I currently have no one to plow my driveway.  The company (a one man operation) I used most recently completely ceased returning my calls a while back.  I paid him cash on site when he did show up, so I haven't the foggiest what is his major malfunction.

You can imagine what it's like trying to find a new outfit to plow right in the middle of an early and massive blizzard.  Fun times ahead!

 

* An ancient GoT reference.

My back is killing me, but I almost have a driveway.  Actually going to escape the property tomorrow.

Seriously if I don't there will be blood.

I have been made aware that a MINI with summer runflats does not do well in the snow.

My sister used to pride herself that because her Golf was so light, she could drive on top of certain kinds of snow (hard pack, in skiing terms).

 

Some snow in the pnw. Makes for a fun commute.

VERY purdy.....!  It's too bad we couldn't have radiant heating on every road out there ?

That storm should be hitting us in Or in a day or so.

It was nearly 70 both days this weekend, the kids were running around in shorts, people went to the beach. It snowed today. This climate is seriously fooked.

Woke up to this in the morning. 

 

It actually melted in the valley and on the east side mountians by me by mid day. 

Took the kids to the mountians on the west of the valley where it's high enough to keep b snow.

We got a touch of snow here Tuesday but nothing that stuck. It has been a seriously weak winter in that regard. Thankfully the mountains got enough for productive skiing but I've been able to see grass for most of the "winter" which is kind of sad. It's currently 38 and rainy, which is just about the worst kind of weather in my opinion.
