    Turns out the damage was a bit more severe than a bad cable. They could still be repaired for less than the cost of a new pair, but not enough less that it seemed worth it. So new Etys are on the way.

Do they still work? I'd fill those bitches with epoxy and call it a day. If they're built like the se530's the housing is arbitrary since the armature drivers are completely sealed by themselves. Filling them with epoxy wouldn't change how they sound and you could probably drive over them and they'd still work.
