A co-worker borrowed De Stilj (on CD) and now I am really missing it.

 

A guy I met at the meet who some people already know named Dave Lederman (sp?), forgot his HF handle, mentioned Porcupine Tree. We were talking about them for awhile and then he mentioned his favorite band is Gentle Giant, so I'm checking them out now.

It's spelled Letterman BTW. 

If the guy was German, it was probably Liedermann.

Pretty sure Lederman is correct (and pronounced like Letterman), his username is davederek.  He's a good guy, had been messaging him off and on for years until we finally met at a Spring NY meet a few years back.

Oh, davederek. Yeah, he's been around a long time. He was looking for a floor to crash on at CJ10, if memory serves. But don't believe he made it there.

Really nice guy for sure. He mentioned something about CJ LA '09 I think... don't think I remember him from Chicago but there's a couple things I don't remember firsthand about that one. 

I remember talking to DaveDerek at meets back when I lived out east. He always gave me shit for not having enough prog-rock music for him to demo with.

Same here!  Though I made sure I had put some Gentle Giant on, he did still curse me for not having any of the aforementioned Porcupine Tree....

Oh, I was just being silly -- riffing off of Steve's reference to a certain famous Dave Letterman -- I would think there's multiple correct ways of spelling Letterman/Lederman/Liedermann/Leatherman...I blame bourbon.  I mean, why would I even think he was German?  I just pulled that out of my ass.

How did you like her live? On recordings I think she's pretty interesting.

Oh, she was superb! I feel bad, though, I wasn't feeling well, so I probably should not have gone. On top of that, I muted my phone, but the alarm still went off.

But yeah, she had great form, played perfectly and with virtuosity, and did it all looking fantastic in that dress.
